Teaching and Learning Bulletin 4November 2014. Learning Team briefing
this Thursday: Dave Hopkins with AFL ideas
Sharing best practice: OPEN CLASSROOMS!
All students have now been told about
Sharepoint. Please upload revision and homework materials
so students can benefit from this
excellent resource.
Learning Team BriefingsMany thanks to the staff that have led the LT briefings this year and thanks to all the staff that have passed on such positive feedback. Just a quick reminder about what we have seen so far. Hopefully lots of you have been trying the ideas out in your lessons!
Session 1: Andrew Moxon showed us Coggle. This is an online mind-mapping resource. Simplemind is a good alternative for the iPad.
Session 2: Mathilde Hazenberg shared her tips for interactive learning. Quiz, quiz trade is a way of consolidating knowledge and checking understanding.
Session 3: Liz McGlen showed us Appfurnace. This is a way of creating apps that students and parents can download and use at home.
Info on all of these sessions will be available on Sharepoint this week.
British Values
As part of the new 2014 curriculum, the DfE reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
Consider…How is this being delivered in your curriculum area? What could we do
differently or better to ensure this is happening?
