In the day-to-day reality of a teacher’s hard-pressed life, it’s sometimes difficult to remember what teaching is really for!

I can still remember my first teaching practice in front of real students, it was terrifying! Like so many people I didn’t know even the basics, so where do you find that initial knowledge or develop your skills further?

Today teachers want books that are enjoyable, informative, fun and easy to read and we hope that’s what you’ll find here.

Just remember, even if you’re only half as good as most teachers are, something extraordinary will happen as you walk through the door and the teacher in you kicks in. It may not be the best lesson ever, nor the nicest group you’ve ever taught, but when the magic works, you suddenly know with a great sense of satisfaction exactly what teaching is for.

Studies have shown that teacher success can be fostered through professional development that is sustained, connected to practice, focussed on academic content and supportive of strong working relationships among teachers.”
