New Bridge Point Procedures

● School hours are 7:45-2:55. Tardy bell will ring at 7:45 am. All students arriving after 7:45 must enter through the office doors to receive a tardy slip.

● Students will enter the building through the front middle doors or the gym doors in the morning. Doors to the front office will be locked.

● Students go straight to the gym and sit with their class until assembly begins.

● Parents who are attending assembly may enter through the front middle doors or gym doors with their children.

● Parents will exit through the gym doors after assembly and will not be allowed to enter the hallways without exiting the building and re-entering through the front office.

● Parents will be welcomed to visit their child during lunch after the first 2 weeks of school, when routines have been established.

4th Grade Policies: HomeworkHomework may consist of material across all

subjects including unfinished class work, assigned homework, and studying for tests. No homework should require parent help; it is work the students are able to and should complete independently. Per campus policy, when homework is assigned it should not exceed a maximum of 50 minutes. Homework will not be assigned for completion on weekends or No Homework Nights. Per policy, please let us know if it is taking longer than the expected time. This is important assessment information and will advise us if accommodations are necessary.

4th Grade Policies: Late Work

● All work assigned to a student is by definition required. The work provides practice of a skill, application of the skill and/or assessment information for the child and teacher. It is not an option for a student to not complete and submit assigned work. Incomplete assignments or assignments not submitted by due date will result in students using their own time to complete. If a student demonstrates a pattern of not completing work as assigned, parents will be notified. Should the pattern continue, motivators such as loss of privileges or meeting to strategize with administrators will be applied.

Grades/Make Up Work● Grades are based on a combination of tests, participation, class

work, homework, group work, and projects.

● Any student that scores below a 70 will be required to make corrections, which will raise the grade to a 70.

● All grades above 70 will remain as is, until the end of the quarter when students will be given an optional extra credit assignment to replace their lowest grade.

● Per district policy for every day your child was absent, 2 days will be given to complete any and all make-up work.

● Treats from the lunchroom on Fridays are limited to 1 per child.

● If your child is leaving early, please notify their afternoon teachers.

● Without a documented note, absences are unexcused.

Departmentalization

● Students will switch between classrooms for each subject.

● This reinforces student organization, responsibility and preparation for 5th grade and beyond.

● This allows for collaboration, specialization and differentiation among teachers and in the classroom.
