TDS Curator goal
The Typological Database System (TDS) currently provides integrated access to multiple independently developed typological databases through a common web interface. While the system is currently operational, TDS Curator will make the TDS into a sustainable service that conforms to CLARIN infrastructural requirements.

Integrated Data and Documentation Format (IDDF)
• No open/standard data format that is semantically rich enough to replace the TDS proprietary format– CSV: too generic, one table only– SQL: too generic, only data no documentation– XML: too generic, which vocabulary?
• Data focus: CSV XML-derivative, SQL dump XML-derivative, …• Model focus: CSDL derivative, …• Documentation focus: ODD derivative, …
• IDDF:– Data: semi-structured hierarchical units– Documentation: extensive documentation of data elements and
values– Model: network close to the conceptual schema
