GET IN AND VOTE- BECOMING ACTIVE IN PARTY ASSOCIATIONS

• Muslims constitute around 3% of the UK population.

• Conservative party- would equate to 12,000 Muslim members. Actual number much less.

• Takes 70,000 voters to vote in a MP, takes about 200 party members to select a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC).

• As a consequence, democratic power is massively concentrated in the hands of a few citizens who become party members.
