1.1 Power up the PC/notebook and plug in the ThumbDrive 2 SMART device into the USB port. After that, double-click on the icon “My Computer.” You will notice that there is a “Removable Disk” Drive, to enter drive double click on it.

1.2 After entering the drive you will notice that there is a SmartLogin.exe. As the

ThumbDrive 2 SMART has not been setup yet, you’ll need to do so before you can use its security features. Double click on the SmartLogin.exe to begin.

1.3 A dialog box will appear to inform you that “There is no private area present”. Please

note that without the private area, the security features will not be enabled. Click “OK” to create the partition, otherwise click “Cancel” to exit

button to proceed, otherwise click “Cancel” to exit.

1.5 A dialog will appear to request for your password and hint. The hint is optional but it is

to help you remember your password should you have forgotten it. NEVER type your password as your hint as it will be accessible by anyone who got hold of your ThumbDrive 2 SMART. Click “OK” to proceed, otherwise click the “Cancel” button.

enabled. The private area is now accessible. To return to the public area, double click on SmartLogout.exe, which is in the private area (Refer to LOGOUT at pg. 5).

2 LOGIN

2.1 If the ThumbDrive 2 SMART has already being setup previously, a login dialog will

appear instead. Keyed in the correct password in the textbox and click on the “OK” button to login. Click on the “Hint” button to retrieve you hint if you need help to remember your password.

2.2 If you keyed in a wrong password for 3 times, a dialog will appear to notify you. You

can reset ThumbDrive 2 Smart and perform the setup again should you really fail to remember your password. However be warned that all data stored in the private area will be erased. Click “Reset” to reset ThumbDrive 2 SMART, otherwise click “CANCEL” to cancel. Program will then terminate.

To logout to the public area, simply double click on the “SmartLogout.exe”. A dialog box will then appear and wait for your confirmation. Click on the “OK” button to logout, otherwise click “Cancel” to cancel.

4 CHANGING PASSWORD AND PARTITION SIZES 4.1 Changing Password

To change your password, click on the small square box beside “Change Password” to check it. After that, key in your current password, your new password and your hint in the 4 text boxes respectively. Finally, click the “OK” button to proceed, otherwise click “Cancel” to cancel.

To change the partition sizes, click on the small square box beside “Change Partition Sizes” to check it. After that, adjust the slider to the desired position. Please note that by removing the private area, i.e. changing the public area to have the total capacity, ThumbDrive 2 Smart will be reset automatically. To proceed, click on the “OK” button, otherwise click “Cancel” to cancel.
