Student Paper for Practice Previous year Set for Online Test

TCS paper Year 2013. NIT Tirchi. The online test was conducted in sets of 7 batches,each of around 37 students.

Each paper had three sections: Vocab, Quanta and Critical Reasoning.

The most difficult was the section on Critical Reasoning.

The CAT guys dont have to worry much, but the timing is still very important.

You can refer to Barons most frequently used words list for a close recap.

Quanta Section: -(time 32 mins)

These are all I could remember: -1.If g (0)=g (1)=1And g (n)= g (n-1) + g (n2) find g (6);

C you have to construct the truth table. Then find the corresponding decimal number and

choose the right option.

5.Complete the sequence 9,10,11,13,15, __, 21,28.

6.In a certain format TUBUJPO is coded as STATION. The code of which string isFILTER?

7. What is the code formed by reversing the First and second letters, the third and fourthletters and son on of the string SIMULTANEOUSLY?

8.The base 5 representation of the decimal number 2048 is _____.

9.Which is the largest prime number that can be stored in a 9-bit register?

10.Find the physical quantity represented by MOMENTUM *VELOCITY] / [LENGTH* ACCELERATION]?

11.A can do a piece of work in 20 days, which B can do in 12 days. In 9 days B does of the work. How many days will A take to finish the remaining work?

Critical Section (time 30 mins)

1. Eight players have to be seated. G, J, L are in the varsity baseball team. H, M, O areboth in the varsity baseball team and the football team. K and N are in the varsitybaseball team as well as the basketball team. You have to seat them in such a way thattwo players who play in two teams never sit adjacent to each other. Now answer thefollowing questions: -(There were four questions. I cant recollect them but once u makethe initial arrangement it becomes pretty easy.)

2. You have to make seating arrangements for 8 people. Andy and Goldberg have toleave early so they must be seated next to the door, which is on the right rear end of thetable. Cooper and Dameto are enemies so they have to be seated as far as possible in the

table. Edmund and Farley always sit together. Burns always occupies the center position.

Answer the following questions. (I remember one)

a).If Edmund and Dameto never sit opposite Burns then in how many ways can thearrangement be made? Etc.

3. A person needs to get himself affiliated to the Nambrian Consulate. He must be eithera US citizen or a neutralized person. He has to get the certificate from the NambrianConsulate, which is open only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12 to 4 oclock.For this he also needs to get himself vaccinated from the Alabama Clinic, which is nearthe consulate and is open on Wednesday till 5 pm. He may also get the vaccination fromThe Beryl Clinic, which is open on Mondays to Thursdays from 9-12 pm. And on Fridaysfrom 4-5 pm. However it takes one hour to get to the clinic from the Nambrian Consulate.Also he must show a notarized bank account of more than $1000, which can be donefrom Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm.

I cant recollect all the questions but most of them went like this: Find the minimum timein which Henry can get affiliated to the Nambrian Consulate, If Henry starts on Tuesdayhe gets affiliated on __________ by __________ in the minimum, etc.
