Setting up Antenna TV

DespitealloftheentertainmentpossibilitiesofyourRokuTV,youmayalsowanttowatchbroadcastTV.YoucanwatchbroadcastTVinmuchthesamewayyouwatchotherentertainmentchoices.Youselectatile—theAntennaTVtile—fromtheHomescreen.

ThefirsttimeyouselecttheAntennaTVtile,youhavetosetuptheTVtuner.SettinguptheTVtunerscansforactivechannelsandaddsthemtoyourbroadcastTVchannellist.

Why do I have to set up the TV tuner?

Youmightbeasking,“Whyisthisstepnecessary?”Goodquestion.

NoteveryoneneedstousetheTVtuner.Forexample,youmighthaveasettopboxprovidedbyacableorsatellitecompanythatreceivesallofyourchannels.MostofthesesettopboxesuseanHDMI®connection.

MoreandmorepeoplearewatchingonlystreamingTVanddonothaveaTVantennaorcable/satelliteservice.Ifyoudon’tneedtheTVtuner,youcanbypasssettingitupandinsteadremoveitfromtheHomescreenasexplainedin“Removeunwantedtiles”onpage24.

WhenyousetupAntennaTV,theTVscansthesignalsonitsantennainputforchannelswithagoodsignal,andaddsthosetothechannellist,skippingdeadchannelsandchannelswithaveryweaksignal.

TheTVwill,however,letyouaddtwoanalogchannels,eveniftheyhavenosignal.Youmightneedtoaddthesechannelsifyouhaveanoldersettopbox,VCR,orgameconsolethatcanonlyoutputasignalonanalogchannel3or4.Thesearetheonlychannelsthatcanbeaddedregardlessofwhethertheyhaveagoodsignal.Typically,you’llonlyneedoneofthesechannels,butbothareprovidedtomakesetupsimpler.Youcanhidetheoneyoudon’twantasexplainedin“EditbroadcastTVchannellineup”onpage23.

Adjusting TV settings

Rearrange tiles

WheneveryouaddaTVinputtile,it’saddedatthetopofyourHomescreen.WheneveryouaddanewstreamingchannelfromtheRokuChannelStore,it’saddedatthebottomofyourHomescreen.

YoucaneasilyrearrangetheorderofthetilesontheHomescreentosuityourviewingpreferences.Forexample,youmightwantAntennaTVtobethefirsttileinyourHomescreen.Butifyoumostlywatchonestreamingchannel,youmightwantitstiletobethefirstoneonyourHomescreen.

InformationonAAAandhowarbitrationisinitiatedcanbefoundatwww.adr.orgorbycalling800-778-7879.ForClaimsbetweenYouandRokuof$75,000orless,youwillberesponsiblefortheinitialarbitrationfilingfee,uptotheamountoftheinitialfilingfeeifyouweretoinitiatealawsuitagainstRokubasedonsuchClaimsincourt.IfthearbitratorfindssuchClaimstobenon-frivolous,Rokuwillpayanydifferenceinsuchfilingfeesplusthearbitratorfees.ForClaimsbetweenYouandRokuinexcessof$75,000,ifyouareabletodemonstratethatthecostsofarbitrationwillbeprohibitiveascomparedtothecostsoflitigation,Rokuwillpayasmuchofyouractualfilingfeesandthearbitratorfeesforthearbitrationasthearbitratordeemsnecessarytopreventthearbitrationfrombeingcost-prohibitiveascomparedtothecostoflitigation.

Iftheagreementtoarbitrateinthisprovisionisfoundtobeinvalid,unenforceableorinapplicabletoagivenClaimbetweenYouandRoku,thenanyandallproceedingstoresolvesuchClaimmustbebroughtexclusivelyinafederalcourtofcompetentjurisdictionintheNorthernDistrictofCaliforniaorinastatecourtinSantaClaraCounty,California.Youherebyirrevocablyconsenttotheexclusivejurisdictionandvenueofsuchcourts.

6. 30-DayRighttoOptOut:Youhavetherighttooptoutofthisagreementtoarbitratebysendingawrittennoticeofyourdecisiontooptouttothefollowingaddress:LegalDepartment,Roku,Inc.,150WinchesterCircle,LosGatos,CA95032,USA;providedthat,suchnoticemustbepostmarkedonorbeforethe30thdayafterthefirsttooccurofthefollowingeventsifyoudonotalreadyhaveaRokuAccount:(a)thedateofpurchaseofYourTelevision,or(b)thedateyoucreateyourRokuAccount.IfyouhaveanexistingRokuAccount,alldevicesyouchoosetolinktoyourRokuAccount,andallservicesprovidedbyRokuwhichareaccessedusingthesedevices,willbesubjecttothisagreementtoarbitrate.Yournoticeshouldincludeyourfullname,yourcurrentpostaladdress,telephonenumberandemailaddress,theproductnameandserialnumberforYourTelevision,andacopyoftheoriginalproofofpurchaseforyourTelevision.Ifyoutimelysendanoticeincompliancewiththisparagraph6,theagreementtoarbitratewillnotapplytoeitheryouorRoku.Ifyoudonottimelysendthisnotice,thenyouagreetobeboundbythisagreementtoarbitrate.

7. NotwithstandinganyprovisioninthisAgreementtothecontrary,youagreethat,ifRokuseekstodeleteormateriallymodifytheagreementtoarbitratedescribedherein,anysuchdeletionormodificationwillnotapplytoanyindividualClaimofwhichyouhavenotifiedRokupriortosuchmodification.
