NEUTRALIZATION SYSTEMS USING BULK ANHYDROUS AMMONIA This system is designed so that either vapor or liquid anhydrous ammonia can be withdrawn from the storage tank. A single pH point is normally used for control purposes. Two point sys- tems can be provided. The sparger is usually fabricated from stainless steel pipe. The con- figuration of the sparger depends on the shape of the neutralization tank. The sparger should be positioned 6” from the sides and 6” from the bottom of the tank. 1/8” holes, drilled in the pip at 4” intervals should point downward at a 45 degree angle from the vertical. The sparger is capped at the end. Technical Bulletin The data in this bulletin is believed to be accurate.
