Transcript of Taxation
The representation of people The representation of people in and against powerin and against power
Lumber Embargo The lumber embargo was a
fault between the U.S. and the Canadian government and how the Canadian government was taxing the lumber mills too cheaply and going against the trade agreement that was set up with the U.S. government. The U.S. felt that the Canadian government were subsidizing their stumps because the Canadian stump fees were considerably lower than the United State’s fees.
The vengeful part in both of these cases is that the people who have the power will use it to their advantage, whether it is from law enforcement, judges and or courts. Sometimes the people in power will even bullying the issue until it’s in their favour for their own benefit.
The rise to the problem at hand with both a similar but still quite different, one was for trying to get relieved from king in power at the time to create a new leadership who will do what the people want, and the other was for disobeying an agreement that was done between the U.S. & Canada.
In the olden days, throughout the aura of the Boston tea party, the only thing that they don’t have in common is our justice system today. Where court dates are involved, lawyers fee’s, lots of paper work but in the end most of the time the good guys win.
The outcome between the two of the issues was the Boston tea party became what they set out to achieve and the Canadian government got more taxing added onto their lumber mills in Canada.
Boston Tea Party With the Boston
tea party the revolt won against the King in power and created the revolution which intern help build the United States.
Lumber Embargo The U.S. went to
court with the Canada and won and now has taxed the lumber mills for using the stumps as a way to undermine the tax they agreed upon.
