VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Word of the Day

baroqueWay Bach When Word of the Day:Without context it's not clear whether baroque is going to steer you towards architecture, music, or furniture, but you know it's going to steer you towards the 17th century, which was the heyday of all things baroque. Its earliest meaning was "Irregularly shaped; whimsical, grotesque, odd." All of those adjectives apply pretty well to the etymology of baroque, which remains largely a mystery.
