After Decision is Made to Fly Victim

•Once the decision to fly a victim to a trauma center dispatch will notify an Air Medical Transport company•Then you must establish a Landing Zone to land

How to Establish a Landing Zone

•You have to find an area Clear of hazards such as trees and power lines•The most flat and clear area is Preferable.•Easy assess to an ambulance is also important

Communication With theAircraft

•When the Aircraft is 3 to 5 mins.From the scene they will attempt Contact with a designated personOn the ground.•Once contact is made theThe ground contact will communicate Hazards around the landing zone and Give patient updates

Once the Aircraft has Landed

•The Flight Nurse and Medic Will tend to the victim.•The pilot of the aircraftWill then figure out the weight of the patient. He will also evaluate the Crash for their report and records.

Loading the Patient•We then take will assist theCrew of the ambulance and helicopterLoad the patient from the ambulance The helicopter.•At this point even the lightest Weight patient will be quite heavyDue to all the medical equipmentHooked up to them

•After the helicopter takesoff we clean up the scene

And return back to station.
