Task 6 pop history improvement

1
My task 6 research into the history of the Pop genre appeared to be predominately music which featured and appealed to white men. In the 70’s, the ‘golden era’ for vinyl records meant more teenagers could spend their pocket money on music. This lead to the audience widening in the 90’s. It was clear that female artists began to take over the Pop genre scene with stars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. These type of artists tend to appeal to a wide range of females. As I was growing up, I was mostly listening to female bands or artists. This highlights the fact that the target audience of music had widened a lot due to the availability of music, and as female artists have become far more popular, the need for female targeted magazines increased (which teens now a days can spend their disposable money/pocket money on)
