There are many different music genres to choose from such as:

• RnB• Hip hop• Pop Rock• Jazz• Classic

I have chosen to do a rock magazine.

History of Rock Music

• Rock music is a genre of popular music that was created in 1960, mainly in the UK and the US. Rock music also drew strongly on a number of other genres such as blues and folk.

• Rock has mainly been associated around the electric guitar, bass guitar and the drums. It has spanned many sub-genres such as progressive rock, glam rock and punk rock. It has also caused and influenced the creation of cultures and social movements. It spawned the punk culture which went on to spawn the Goth and Emo cultures. It has often been seen as a way of youth to revolt against adult consumerism.

Rock Music Imagery

• Rock music is typically male dominated, so it is associated with masculinity and machismo. Rock music is normally associated with dark colours such as black or red.

• It is also joined with acts of anarchy and anti-social behaviour, but this is mainly because of youth who rebel against adults.
