These are some of the magazine covers in which links with my chosen genre of my own magazine which I wish to produce.

This links as the front cover is not overcrowded with images of different artists and text. It is limited in information and images however still attracts the reader towards the magazine.

The main image itself is also a medium close up, which fills a majority of the page itself. I plan to do this on the front cover of the magazine which I will produce. I like this because it looks professional and, depending on the artist, sets the genre and theme of the magazine.

I will also use the layout of the ‘magic C’, as used in the first and third image, within the front cover as it looks approachable and not too busy and overcrowded.

The Publisher of Billboard magazine…

Howard Appelbaum:

•The current publisher of Billboard magazine is Howard Appelbaum, whom took over the position when previous publisher John Kilullen retired in 1998. He is also titled vice president of the magazine.

•Howard Appelbaum makes a suitable publisher as his leadership has raised the magazine 300% in profitability.

•As well as this, Howard has managed literally all aspects of the Billboard magazine business, some of which are editorial, charts, digital and mobile initiatives, advertising sales, and face-to-face events.

By this research, I have come to the conclusion that Howard Appelbaum is a suitable publisher for my final magazine. This is because he has good leadership and meets all the aspects of a publisher for this particular magazine and has maintained the magazines popularity with the target audience/s and is successful.
