Task 3 Narrative

Task 3 NarrativeHolly BackmanThis is when a story is told in chronological order. The audience will be able to tell that the story is being told from beginning, middle and end.

LinearThis is when a story is told not in order, this means there are twists in the story line so that the audience doesnt know what is going to happen next. This is normally used to create a twist in the story line which will shock the audience.

Non- LinearThis is when there is a scene goes back in time, this means it is not in order. It can show a previous event to explain the current storyline.

FlashbackThis is when the story being told in the show is like real life, it is difficult to completely copy a scene that has happened in real life as it needs to show real events, real life setting and characters. This is used to copy an event that has happened in real life.

RealistThis is when something shown on a TV show or film could never happen in real life, for example a show about vampires or mermaids or anything imaginary that no one has ever seen.Anti RealistThis is when the story ends usually with a cliff hanger, this makes the audience want to carry on watching and they will most likely show what happens in another episode. This will most likely carry on through out the whole series until all the audience questions have been answered.Open NarrativesThis is when the story comes to end with all the questions answered. This closes the storyline which means there will be a new opening at the start of the next episode.
