CRISTINA CRUZ RUIZ- MENCIÓN INGLÉS ONLINETASK 1 – ENGLISH RESOURCESPROF: ESTEFANÍA TORRIJOS
Design two activities to develop any of the seven multiple
intelligences. Include as many intelligences as you can in your
activities. Include number of students and main aim
ACTIVITY 1:
MY FACE AND ME: THE WAY I AM
Main aims:
- To develop linguistic intelligence by choosing adjectives to
describe oneself and by presenting the classmates what they
consider to be their best characteristics
- To develop visual intelligence by relating a facial expression
and an adjective and by enabling students to express their mod
in a picture
- To develop intrapersonal intelligence by choosing positive
adjectives to describe oneself
Number of students: from 20 to 25 students in 6Th grade. Estructure:
1-2-4-group (first, the student work individually; second, they work in
pairs; third, in small groups and finally the whole class)
Procedure: (pictures from 1000+ pictures for teachers to copy, by
Andrew Wright)
-Explain the students they are going to talk about themselves by
using some positive adjectives which define themselves. Only positive
adjectives. They will have to pick up 3 or 4 words (from the teacher’s
selection) and draw a face that represents that characteristic.
-Scan some pictures to show the students how to draw faces and let
them practice, for example the following ones:

-Show the students how to express some adjectives they can use to
talk about themselves, for example

among others.
Or, the teacher can pre-teach new vocabulary and synonyms and
after that, ask the student to match the expression and the adjective.
-Ask the students to pick up 3 or 4 adjectives and draw the matching
facial expression.
- Once they all finish drawing, ask the students to show his/her
classmate (the one on his/her left) his/her choice of words and then,
make groups of 4 people. Each one in the group have to explain the
rest of the group his/her choice. Let the students to comment (in
small groups) whether they agree or not with their mates selection.
-All students take turns to explain the whole class the words they
have chosen and why.
-Teacher can scaffold the last stage by using prompts, as in:
“I think I am ______________ because I always ______________”
-Elicit and accept all logical explanations, later, once they have
finished talking, the teacher can review grammar structures and
common mistakes
