Task 2

The topic of this photo is wildlife. The type of photo is a close up of the two animals.In this photo the bird has landed on the buffalos head in-between the eyes and mouth.This photo is taken by Akash Das.

I chose this photo because it is a rare to get a photo with the bird sitting still on the nose of the other animal and could of flew of at anytime which makes it elegant and one of a kind.

The topics of this photo are landscape and nature.This picture is a long shot of a man scuba diving in a valley which was full of snow which has melted and turned in to a lake in the park.The photo was taken by Marc Henauer.

What I like about this photo is that the tree still had leaves on it and is now buried under water which makes the colour much more brighter and interesting.

Task 3

Ernest Cole• Ernest Cole was a black South African, born in Eersterust in Pretoria, in 1940. He left school when the

Bantu Education Act was put into place in 1953, and instead completed his matric via correspondence.• In 1958, Cole applied for a job with Drum magazine. Jürgen Schadeberg, the chief photographer employed

him as his assistant. Cole also started a correspondence course with the New York Institute of Photography. With their support, he decided on a project which entailed recording the evils and social effects of apartheid.

• He then worked at the Bantu World newspaper (later renamed The World - now The Sowetan), where he continued his career as a photographer. In the early 1960s, he started to freelance for clients such as Drum, the Rand Daily Mail, The World and the Sunday Express. This made him South Africa’s first black freelance photographer.
