Andrea Seemann is a Data Specialist who began her career at Tarleton in September 2019.
Did you graduate from Tarleton?
Yes, I graduated from Tarleton in December 2017 with a Bachelor's in Poly Sci & minor in Public Policy.
If you could teach a course at Tarleton, what would it be?
I would teach 19th century literature so I can have an excuse to read all my favorite books over and over
again!
What is your favorite thing about your role?
My favorite part of my job is building meaningful and genuine relationships with faculty, staff, and students all over campus.
Do you have any hobbies or special interests?
With five kids, three of which are still living at home, I stay pretty busy being a mom and doing activities with them. However, I love to read, refinish furniture, and plan social gatherings with my friends.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and
women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2021 will occur on Monday, May 31.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an
official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or
memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of

Benefits Update
Vacation
With summer upon us and the end of the fiscal year just a few short months away, it is important to
know what your maximum vacation carryover balance is for the new fiscal year. Each year on
September 1st, the lapsing of annual vacation leave into sick leave for employees who have vacation balances that exceed the State maximum carryover limit occurs. Don’t let this happen to you!
To see if you are at risk of forfeiting vacation hours as of 09/01/21:
• Select the Time Off worklet from your Workday home page
• Select Time Off Balance under the View column
• Change the date to 09/01/2021
• Select OK.
• Forfeited hours of vacation are listed in Period field.
See System Policy 31.03.01 for carryover balance maximums.
Retirement
Judson Arrington with Voya Financial will be on the Stephenville campus Thursday, May 13, 2021 to
assist employees with new and existing retirement accounts.
