Whilst doing my research I have decided to do the genre pop music for my music magazine. This type of music targets a large variety of people as lots of people listen to

this genre but mainly Rah’s and Clubber’s . As my music attracts a large variety of people my magazine will make lots of money as it appeals to mass market people. My

predominant audience will be both genders age 16-25, but mainly females. I have chosen to do this because I feel I can relate to this target audience and genre more strongly because it is the music i enjoy and within my age bracket therefore i will be

able to create a strong magazine that will be successful at making profit.

The magazines that influenced me the most to chose this genre of music are ‘Q magazine’ and ‘Blender’ because they both have similar genres of music therefore I

have generalised this genre of music to pop.

Target AudienceThe general genres of people who will read my magazine:- Clubbers- Rahs

These stereotypes are the ones that I reached after ‘Find your tribe’. I would say that clubbers and rahs are pretty similar types of people because I think they share the same ideologies and both have similar fashion sense. Those under the clubbers category obviously enjoy clubbing night life more and perhaps the dance music more. I think in general the types of music they listen to is varied because in night life they may listen to dance music and more ‘chavy’ music because they are enjoying the atmosphere with everybody whereas in their own time they might be seen listening to more subtle music like ‘The Kooks’. I would say they are more open to listening to different genres of music. the genre of the music they choose to listen to probably depends on the atmosphere and emotional state at that time.

‘A rah is stereotypically a privately educated, or what appears to be a privately educated person living in the UK. They are normally seen sporting Jack Wills, Abercrombie & Fitch, big messy hair, and uggs. The majority of "rahs" attend universities and live a party lifestyle, and are often the cliche "popular" set. Opinions split on rahs, some people think they are pretty bastards that live off Daddy's money, and the other half admire them for their style that is often replicated.’ from the urban dictionary.

I feel this is a very stereotypical view of rahs, i agree that there is this genre of youths around but i would also say that there are those rahs who are not stuck up and work to pay for their clothes out of their own money but yet still like the party lifestyle and look classy. I would say this type of rah probably has a more realistic view of life because of they work for their own money which makes them more down to earth and easy to speak to.
