The Team America Rocketry Challenge requires us to design, build, and fly a rocket that can

carry an egg at least 750 feet into the air within the duration of 40 to 45 seconds and

land it safely using a specifically sized parachute.

Page 14: TARC Alpha team Presents: Black & yellow

Pros(+) Cons(-)Payload system present Not enough dimensioning

Feasible recovery system Egg compartment too complex

Egg safely stored No launch lugs

Shows connections between body tube Does not show how altimeter is attached

All criteria met No specific engine model

Aerodynamic Nose cone oddly shaped

DAVID’S SOLUTION

Page 15: TARC Alpha team Presents: Black & yellow

Pros (+) Cons (-)Appropriate height Fins are too big/ no dimensioning

Accurate dimensions No payload system indicated

Proper Nose Cone Shape No connecting system from top and bottom sections of rocket

Possible Choice for Recovery System

Does not show how egg will be stored safely

Appropriate amount of launch lugs Does not show how altimeter will be attached

Ease of construction Fin shape is inappropriate for the large rocket

BRIAN’S SKETCH

Page 16: TARC Alpha team Presents: Black & yellow

Pros (+) Cons (-)

Well dimensioned Fins bizarrely shaped

Labeled rocket parts Egg capsule not attached to rocket

Proper Nose Cone Shape Not enough launch lugs

Criteria met Altimeter placement not feasible

Aerodynamic Parachute is complex

Ease of construction Recovery system unfeasible

NEELAM’S SKETCH

Page 17: TARC Alpha team Presents: Black & yellow

Pros (+) Cons (-)

Good recovery system Unnecessary extra shock cords

Accurate dimensions Only one separation

Ease of construction Missing dimensions

Reasonable fin choice Parts are unlabeled / parts missing

Shows connection of separate parts Confusion of placement of parts

Reasonable place for egg capsule No motor
