This is your chance to lead within the TandonUndergraduate Student Council and represent the studentcommunity at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. We

believe in uniting the diverse community of students atNYU Tandon, advocating for student needs, and creating

relevant programming for the student body. TUSC strivesto work with the Tandon community to listen to their

needs and accommodate as best as they can.

Please note that the following descriptions are related to the TUSC structure

for the 2019-2020 academic year. Summaries are NOT a complete list of each

member’s responsibilities as part of the student council. All interested

candidates must read both the Constitution and Election Policies attached to

the Election Application located on NYU Engage.

The Executive Board

PRESIDENT

I oversee the entire Undergraduate

Student Council to work on

initiatives, programming and

advocacy for students. I represent

Tandon’s undergraduate population

at a larger university scale and work

directly with administration to

express student concern.

VICE PRESIDENT

I assist the president in every way

possible and help oversee the

directors on the council.

SECRETARY

I maintain records of all Student

Council agendas and correspondence

as well as make sure all rules are

being followed. I also record every

student council meeting and activities

going on.

The Executive Board

TREASURER

I am the financial advisor to the

Student Council. I keep necessary

required documentation of all

student council purchases and

supplemental funding given to

recognized student organizations.

CHIEF OF STAFF

I assist the president in every way

possible and help oversee the

directors on the council.

DIRECTOR OF

PROGRAMMING

I organize and direct programming

events hosted through the Student

Council, as well as oversee our

wellness, marquee, and student

organization club liaison

commissioners.

DIRECTOR OF

STUDENT SUCCESS

I oversee the student success team and

work on initiatives to help students be

more successful. This includes

developing programs to provide

students with more opportunities and

easier access to them.

DIRECTOR OF

MARKETING

I am responsible for ensuring the

Tandon community is aware of all

events and programs that TUSC offers.

I design and develop marketing

content including social media posts,

flyers, brochures, and more. I also

oversee and work closely with the

marketing commissioner.

SENATOR

I represent the Tandon student body in all

relevant university wide student government

bodies. That means that I am the main

representative of the NYU community at-large.

The most important of these bodies are the

Student Senators Council, the Student

Government Assembly and the University Senate.

With Tandon’s unique status within NYU,

representation on these bodies is paramount to

the successful continued relationship between

Brooklyn and Washington Square.

SENATOR

The Alternate Senator works

alongside the Senator. The

alternate helps represent Tandon

and the student body.

HEALTH & WELLNESS:

PROGRAMMING

I organize health and wellness events,

such as my Happy Days series, hosted by

TUSC. My overall goals are to promote

self love, taking care of yourself and

others, and create an increase of health,

wellness, and happiness in the NYU

Tandon community.

MARQUEE EVENTS:

PROGRAMMING

I organize and come up with

marquee events hosted by TUSC

such as the finals destress events. As

part of the programming branch, I

help plan and execute other events

hosted by programming.

I am responsible for being the

intermediate step between all

clubs associated with Tandon. I try

to support clubs on campus

through collaboration events and

event promotion.

DIVERSITY:

STUDENT SUCCESS

I work with the student success to ensure

that diversity and inclusion initiatives

are taken by the council. I work with

diversity clubs to ensure they have funds

and resources for their events and

programs. I help plan and run events

hosted by Student Success at Tandon.

FACULTY/ALUMNI AND

STUDENT LIAISON:

STUDENT SUCCESS

I organize events to help students to

build strong connections with

faculties outside of classrooms, and

my goal is for students to have

access to more opportunities from

faculties and be more comfortable

around them.

SERVICE:

STUDENT SUCCESS

As the service and civic engagement

commissioner, I serve to plan and

organize events where the student

body can help the surrounding New

York City community. Examples

include awareness walks, blood drives,

making food for the homeless, etc.

FIRST YEAR LIAISON:

STUDENT SUCCESS

II represent the interests of the

freshman class in TUSC. Through

assisting the organization of

initiatives like the First Year Cohort,

I help foster a more interconnected

first year student body.

MARKETING

COMMISSIONER

I assist the Director of Marketing

in creating marketing material for

TUSC sponsored events as well as

oversee our social media accounts.
