No.ii(2)/hwmP/664/2018.—the governor of tamil Nadu having been satisfied that the lands specified in the schedule below are acquired under tamil Nadu road sector Project-ii highways purpose to wit for upgrading arcot to Villupuram road (sh 04) at Km 29/800 to Km 110/200 and Km 113/200 to Km 114/600 in muttathur Village, Vikkiravandi taluk, Villupuram district and it has already been decided that the entire amount of compensation to be awarded for the lands is to be paid out of the funds controlled and managed by the divisional engineer, tamil Nadu road sector Project –ii, tiruvannamalai and after having considered the cause shown by the owner or other person having interested in the said lands, as the case may be, do hereby issue and publish the following notice under sub-section (1) of section 15 of the tamil Nadu highways act, 2001 (tamil Nadu act 34 of 2002).

No. ii(2)/Le/674/2018.—in exercise of the power conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 3 and sub-section (2) of section 5 of the minimum wages act, 1948 (central act Xi of 1948) and in supersession of the Labour and Employment Department Notification No. II(2)/LE/303/2013, published at page 250 and 251 of Part ii — section 2 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated the 10th april 2013, the governor of tamil Nadu after consultation with the advisory Board, hereby revises the minimum rates of wages payable to the classes of employees in the employment in sea food Processing industry in the state of tamil Nadu, specified in column (1) of the Schedule below, as specified in the corresponding entries in column (2) thereof, the draft of the same having been previously published as required by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 5 of the said act.
2. This notification shall come into force with effect on and from the date of its publication in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.

Explanations.- (1) Dearness Allowance.– in addition to the above minimum rates of basic wages, the employees shall be paid dearness allowance as follows:-
(i) the dearness allowance shall be linked to the average consumer Price index Number for chennai city for the year 2010 (that is 161 points with base 2001=100) and for every rise of one point over and above 161 points, an increase of rs.30.80 (rupees thirty and paise eighty only) per month shall be paid as dearness allowance.
(ii) the dearness allowance shall be calculated on the first April of every year on the basis of the average of the indices of the preceding twelve months, that is, from January to december.
(iii) The first calculation shall be effective from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette based on the average consumer Price index of the previous year.
(2) where the nature of work is the same, no distinction in the payment of wages shall be made in the case of men and women employees.
(3) to arrive at the daily rates of wages, the monthly wages shall be divided by 26.
(4) wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed herein. such existing wages shall be continued to be paid.

Extra Wages: Dhoti.- Extra wages shall be paid for the extra work.
The rate of extra wages vary from 5% to 15% or even more on the basic wages depending upon the size of the pettu border design.
Sarees.- Extra wages shall be paid for the extra work. The rate of extra wages vary from 5% to 20% or even more on the basic wages depending upon the Merit/Technique involved in the extra work (Border, Butta and Mundhi design etc.,)
Explanations.- (1) Dearness Allowance.- In addition to the minimum wages fixed above, dearness allowance shall be paid as indicated below:-
(i) Dearness allowance shall be paid at the rate of 10% of the basic wages plus extra wages linked with the productivity from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
(ii) Additional increase of 5% on the prevailing basic wages plus extra wages shall be granted every year on the 1st April till the next revision.
(2) Where the nature of work is the same no distinction in the payment of wages shall be made between men and women employees.
(3) Wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed herein, the same shall be continued to be paid.

Explanations.-
(1) Classification of Zones.-
Zone A and B shall comprise of the following areas:-
Zone A : All Municipal Corporations.
Zone B : All areas other than the areas of Municipal Corporations.
(2) Dearness Allowance.- In addition to the minimum rates of basic wages fixed above, the employees shall be paid dearness allowance as indicated below:-
(i) The dearness allowance is linked to the Average Chennai City Consumer Price Index for the year 2010, that is 161 points (with base 2001=100) and for every raise of one point over and above 161 points, an increase of Rs.36.00 (Rupees thirty six only) per month shall be paid as dearness allowance.
(ii) The dearness allowance shall be calculated 'on the first April of every year on the basis of the average of the indices for the preceeding twelve months, that is from January to December.
(iii) The first calculation shall be effective from the date of publication of this Notification in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette based on the Average Chennai City Consumer Price Index Number for the previous year.
(3) (i) To arrive at the daily rate of wages, the monthly rate of wages shall be divided by 26.
(ii) To arrive at the monthly rate of wages, the daily rate of wages shall be multiplied by 30.
(4) Where the nature of work is the same, no distinction in the payment of wages shall be made in the case of male and female employees.
(5) Wherever the existing wages are higher than the minimum wages fixed herein, the existing wages shall be continued to be paid.
