Rise up and walk When Jesus finds the unnamed daughter of Jairus deceased, He takes her by the hand and says, "Talitha kum" (Marcus 5:41). Marcus immediately explains that this means "Lile girl, I say to you, arise." It is in this simple but meaningful episode, that inspiraon was found for the Talitha kum acvity being held every year in the small uninhabited yet not abandoned village of Drave, in Portugal. When taking Jesus's call as a passionate appeal to rise up and walk on the face of the Earth enjoying the miracle of life granted by God, it is, in fact, difficult to remain indifferent to world surrounding us. In 2015, it will be based on one of those human giants touched by His message of rising and walking in this world fully embracing Him: Mother Theresa of Calcua. Talitha kum - rise up and walk Talitha kum is an event for Rover Scouts that in its 2015 edion will be open for ICCS Rovers. Goals provide moments of prayer and faith celebraon; allow the miracle of gathering with God, in the contemplaon of His Creaon and in the dialogue with one self and with the one next to him; live, through sharing, the rover ideal; enjoy the metanoia Drave has to offer. Where: in Drave, northern Portugal Fees: 30 € for any parcipant going directly to Drave; an addional fee of harged for any parcipant 50 € is c whishing to spend the overnights in Lisbon, immediatly before and aer Talitha Kum; the addional fee inludes transportaon Lisbon-Drave-Lisbon. Talitha kum 2015 About Drave Drave is an unhabited village with around 500 years old. Scouts are in the village for around 20 years and only for 10 years as a Scout Centre. It is a very beauful place that is untouched by progress, only nature, silence, rocks, stars... A place where we can experience being a new man; a place of becoming, not of being. Drave is waing for you and we are happy to welcome you in the centre and help you in every way we can.
