We want to thank all of you who have blessed us with your visits and thank those of you who supported the many fundraisers and work that went into them geng here. We want to send a special thanks to Isaac Yost who worked with us for a week while vising our excellent SALT volunteer from Mennonite Central Commiee, Annemarie Nechodom. Isaac took these cute pictures of our lile ones to sell as cards. “Winter” is here and we are enjoying having the kids home for two weeks dur- ing winter break. This is supposed to be the coldest me of the year, but it’s about 75 degrees currently. We are taking advantage of our me with the kids by teaching a va- riety of classes. Internaonal cooking classes, sewing, cake making/decorang, craſts, and carpentry are being offered this break. In addion to classes, the kids are vising other ministries to lend a hand to others less fortunate. Also, they have been taking city buses to local plazas and markets to learn more about their own home town. Talita Cumi WHAT DO Y OU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?

Don’t we all ask this question to the kids we love?

Giving the opportunity to our kids at Talita Cumi to learn new trades has been exciting as we see them stretch,

grow, and mature. We are fortunate to have access to technical schools here in

the city that help young people find a career path.

Ximena just graduated from a four month cake decorating course. As you can see

from the picture, she learned a lot. This is Ximena’s last year with us and we are

so proud of the kind young lady she has become. Ximena also attends night

school with our oldest boy Tiburcio.

Tibu and Ximena will get their GED before leaving Talita Cumi. Its our hope that

each child will take advantage of the opportunity to discover their gifts and tal-

ents early in life so they can secure a type of job that they love and are good at.

MUCHAS GRACIAS!

To our wonderful family

from Kansas and also

Tia Jenice from Nebras-

ka.

We loved having you

here again and we ap-

preciate all the love you

showed our kids and

staff. Thank for working

so hard at the children's church La Restaura-

cion. The church is excited to make head way

on the new addition for Sunday school rooms.

Hopefully when you come back all that you

will have to do is teach Sunday school!

Also, thank you for finishing the details in the

dinning hall at TC. The paint makes everything

look fresh and clean. You all were great exam-

ples of God’s love and kindness.

Finally we have some great help in the area of counseling and

psychology. Praise the Lord!

We are thrilled to welcome Tia Gabriela who has the gift of lis-

tening and a heart full of love for our girls. Gabi is only 23 years

old but is very spiritually mature.

Tia Angela is a well seasoned Christian Psychologist who is

squeezing TC into her very busy private practice schedule. We

are very happy to have her helping two days a week.

In June we were blessed by a team from Bellevue Baptist church

in Owensboro, Kentucky. Tammy Brown and Angela Austin

taught morning workshops to the staff on special education and

counseling. The other members of the team worked at another

orphanage called Judah Quay. Judah Quay is a home for babies

with developmental problems or serious illness. They were busy

holding babies, sprucing up the home, and working in the yard.

The team also held a soccer clinic at did VBS activities where our

kids attend school. We thank God for this opportunity to con-

nect with you.

We enjoyed having Christi-

na Faulls here for two days

a week in June. She is also

from Bellevue Baptist

Church. During her time

here she taught knitting to

the girls and played lots of

board games.

If you were fortunate

enough to meet our Fany you will

remember two things she loved to

do; welcome new friends to Talita

Cumi and give big hugs. Fany loved

to sing old Spanish love songs and fly

down the little ramp in her wheel-

chair with her arms open wide. Fany

was also a flirt, she unabashedly

would bat her long curly eyelashes

and wink at any handsome young

man.

Everyday she would wait

near the door for her “Wawas” to

return from school. (Wawa means

baby in Quechua) She loved all the

kids who lived with her at TC. As one

of the longest attendants of Talita

Cumi she had gotten to know well

over 500 children.

Fany never went very far

from the home, but she had a huge

impact on many people. Over 70

people attended her funeral and

many friends from far and wide sent

heart-felt messages of condolences

to our TC family. We were blessed to

know her, to care for her, and to

LOVE her. As Christ received his

bride Fany into his arms, healthy and

whole, I believe that He was a little

surprised by what a great hugger she

is for such a little person...

HASTA PRONTO FANY!

We are praising God for His faithfulness! We are thrilled to have new staff and counseling support for the kids.

Please continue to pray for the boys transition from Tia Esther to Tia Maria. Many of our boys have grown up un-der Esther's care and consider her their mom. The majority are also in adolescence which has its own set of chal-lenges.

Pray for the girls and their spiritual growth. Pray that they find direction for their lives.

Pray for Tia Silda and her husband Ciro who are expecting a baby in September.

Pray for Annemarie Nechodom, our SALTER, who has been a wonderful help to everyone at TC this year. Anne-marie will be returning to the states to figure out what God has next for her. We will not be surprised if we see her again in Bolivia!

But we are citizens of

heaven,

Where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior, He will take our weak mortal

bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which

he will bring everything under his control. -Philippians 3: 20-21
