Annual statements are issued to customers once a year. We’ll usually issue your annual statement on the anniversary of your supply start date with us.
Your annual statement will provide information about your current usage, your current tariff, and also presents you with other tariff options. If you’re unsure which type of annual statement you’ve received, you can find this information under ‘Payment method’ on page 2 of your annual statement.
The type of annual statement you receive is based on your payment method and meter type. Below are examples of some of our annual statements.

Cheapest ‘similar’: this identifies the cheapest available tariff that’s of the same type as your current tariff (eg Fixed price or Variable), and is compatible with your meter.
Cheapest ‘overall’: this identifies the overall cheapest available tariff we have, and is compatible with your meter but not necessarily of the same type. For example, if you are on a Variable price tariff we might show you a Fixed price tariff here if it is cheaper, or vice versa.

Glossary• kWh (kilowatt hour)
One kilowatt of power being used for one hour. It’s the same as a 40-watt light bulb being left on for 25 hours. Also known as a ‘unit’ of energy.
• Personal projection This is based on your actual consumption and is a projection of your future yearly charge. You could compare the personal projection for your current tariff with a personal projection given to you for an alternative tariff by your current supplier, an alternative supplier or a switching site.
• Switch To change from the current supplier to a different supplier, or to change from the current tariff to a different tariff with the same supplier.
• Tariff The package of charges and conditions that a supplier offers you for providing electricity.
• Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) The TCR is for your Standard (Variable) electricity tariff paying by Standard Cash/Cheque Quarterly. You can use it to help you easily compare the price of other available electricity tariffs by checking against their TCRs. The TCR is not an actual price and is based on the consumption of a typical user of electricity (3,200 kWh/year), the amount you are charged will vary depending on how much energy you use. Standard (Variable) - Prepay
• Your prices on the date of this statement are set out above. These prices are variable and can be changed at any time on 30 days notice. You can terminate at any time by giving us notice. There are no early termination fees.
• If you pay by monthly direct debit we’ll only review your payment amount in line with our direct debit rules. They’re available at www.edfenergy.com/directdebitrules, and form part of these key terms. If you don’t pay in line with your payment scheme your contract may end or change. This could result in a change to your payment method and/or charges. You’ll get at least 7 working days notice of this. If we make any other change to your disadvantage we’ll tell you and give you the chance to change supplier. We’ll explain what you need to do and when, at the time.
Glossary• kWh (kilowatt hour)
One kilowatt of power being used for one hour. It’s the same as a 40-watt light bulb being left on for 25 hours. Also known as a ‘unit’ of energy.
• Personal projection This is based on your actual consumption and is a projection of your future yearly charge. You could compare the personal projection for your current tariff with a personal projection given to you for an alternative tariff by your current supplier, an alternative supplier or a switching site.
• Switch To change from the current supplier to a different supplier, or to change from the current tariff to a different tariff with the same supplier.
• Tariff The package of charges and conditions that a supplier offers you for providing electricity.
• Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) The TCR is for your Standard (Variable) electricity tariff paying by Prepayment. You can use it to help you easily compare the price of other available electricity tariffs by checking against their TCRs. The TCR is not an actual price and is based on the consumption of a typical user of electricity (3,200kWh/year), the amount you are charged will vary depending on how much energy you use.
