The group will perform some Grammy Award-winning hits from the past 25 years. This year’s theme for the campus-wide MLK campaign, “A Tribute to Project 60/50: Crossing Borders, Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” will officially conclude Project 60/50, MSU’s yearlong community conversation on civil and human rights. MSU’S Jazz Orchestra I, directed by Rodney T. Whitaker, director of the jazz studies program at MSU, will be performing and university administrators will be speaking during both performances. “We are thrilled to have Take 6 join us this year as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr., one of the most influential leaders in U.S. history," says Whitaker. “We hope to inspire the community to step up and further educate themselves about what’s happening in our community, our country, and globally.” The events are free but tickets are required.
