Week of April 8, 2019 UPCOMING EVENTS/PROGRAMS GROTON, CT - As a high school principal, there is nothing beer than receiving great news from a parent about one of our stu- dents at MSMHS. Recently I received a text from Moises Pagan, father of senior Tai Pagan, leng me know that Tai was named First Team All-State and ECC Player of the Year. Coming soon, The Day will post an arcle with the tle: The Days 2019 All-Area GirlsBasketball Player of the Year: New Londons Tai Pagan. Tai Pagan has had a tremendous career that unl now, has not been filled with the accolades that it has deserved. However, this summer, the hard work that Tai put into her game was too over- whelming not to get the aenon that it has been missing for so long. She helped lead the New London Whalers to an ECC Champi- onship and to Mohegan Sun Arena for the State Championship game. Tai averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks this sea- son. Just incredible! Next year, Tai will play Division II basketball at Post University on a full academic scholarship and will study Internaonal Business. Last year our PTO raised $18,000 at our PTO Spelling Bee. This year we are hoping to do the same with the help of our major sponsor: Cross Sound Ferry. Boom-line: we our parents to form teams for the up- coming PTO Spelling Bee. We need 12 more teams! For $120, ($40 a person) you and two oth- ers can dress up and parcipate with other parent teams for the Bale of the Parents on Friday, April 26th at 7 pm. You do not have to be a great speller to win (or find just 1 good speller for the group). The key is finding two other people who want to have fun and get dressed up in a fun- ny costume. Awards for the event are given for funniest parent team, best team name, best costume, most spirit, and best speller. If you are just aending the Spelling Bee as a fan, we have great food and tremendous silent aucon prizes including: Four Reserved Front Row Graduaon Seats (2 sets) New York Yankees Ticket Package Luncheon with Dr. Spera and 3 friends Reserved Student Parking in the Parking Garage Saltwater Fish Tank with Home Installaon Plus, Several Items & Giſt Cards from Area Stores & Restaurants MSMHS WELCOMES CLASS OF 2023 A few weeks ago in the Great Hall of MSMHS, we welcomed the Class of 2023!
