RIEDEL'S ADVANCED, RELIABLE AND EFFECTIVE TECHNOLOGY MEANS ECONOMIES IN PRODUCTION
Mission
For over 50 years Riedel “Pro Tobacco“ has been highly successful in the worldwidetobacco industry as a supplier of filtration technology, pneumatic transport systems and sophisticated, individually designed filtration solutions.
Over this period, Riedel has established itself as a leading company on the world market and has long been recognised as an innovative, cutting-edge-technology manufacturer. Recent examples of this have been the successful introduction of the SACU system and the development of “NetVac” (network oriented cleaning system for makers and packers). The company offers its clients unrivalled customer benefits and the achieve-ment of high profitability levels when using Riedel systems.
Customer benefits such as maximum reliability, high productivity and the gentle handling of raw materials enjoy major priority in its range of products and services. This results in considerable savings in materials, spare parts, conditioned air and energy for the customer.
Riedel systems are further so designed that they meet todays environmental and consumer protection requirements through track and traceability capabilities, and additionally possess high-level ATEX conformity and protection against fire risks.
As well as designing individual client solutions, Riedel is well known and respected for its universal system solutions.
Primary Process
In the primary process, Riedel offers a complete concept, from the pneumatic transport of the tobacco through to de-dusting.
The pneumatic cut filler feeding system offers considerable advantages in the areas of reduced degradation, track and traceability capabilities and the economic use of energy and conditioned air. The high efficiency and higher uptime of the system offer further user benefits.
Safety at work is an integral characteristic of Riedel systems as demonstrated for example by ATEX certified systems and protection against fire risks.
The low emission levels are environmentally friendly, as is the careful use of resources, such as minimal energy, compressed air and water consumption.
The complete product range covers pneumatic feeding and transport systems for bulk material, centralized vacuum cleaning systems and de-dusting systems.
Riedel offers solutions using fabric filters and venturi scrubbers for the cleaning of moist air.
The Riedel Vacuum-Cleaning-System has been designed to fulfil high hygienic demands. It features a multi-user-function, high uptime and exceptional reliability.
Pipe ConnectionsThe Riedel Feeding Pipe Connection System
The Riedel Feeding Pipe Connection (FPC) ensures there are no gaps between the pipes or edges that can damage the product. The cut filler passes smoothly through this zone and suffers no harm.
>>> Reduction in degradation and preservation of filling power a result of careful product handling!
Blend SelectorThe Riedel Blend Selectorwith Connection Control
Riedel Connection Control detects whether the correct feeder has been connected to the correct maker in the blend selector.
>>> 100% flexibility, track and traceability, higher uptime!
SACUThe Riedel SACU
This is yet another clever Riedel idea. The SACU offers many savings:
• The reduction in degradation (dust creation) gives tobacco saving of up to 0.5%.
• Lower transport velocity and lower turbulence offers savings in filling power of up to 5%.
• The reduction in air leakages leads to a saving of up to 200,000 cubic meters of conditioned air per annum and maker on single shift operation.
• The removal of the bleeding valve results in savings of up to 400,000 cubic meters of condi- tioned air per annum and maker on single shift operation.
• Increased uptime through the avoidance of maker-blockages.
>>> More economic production, higher uptime!
Filter SystemThe Riedel Filter System
The Riedel filter system ensures the non-stop optimised and well-balanced transport of cut filler over a 4-shift cycle. Comparative tests confirm the high performance and efficiency of the plant.
>>> Higher productivity, higher uptime!

RIEDEL'S INNOVATIVE CLEANING TECHNOLOGY - FOR MAKE/PACK AND PRIMARY
Cleaning Systems
Riedel offers a large number of individually designed solutions in this area, which can be adapted to specific client requirements where necessary. The large number of existing installations gives support to Riedel’s claim to possess unique expertise in this field.
In order to make user operation more efficient, Riedel has successfully developed and launched innovative systems such as “NetVac” on the market. A particular feature of NetVac is its compliance with EU health regulations. This system uses a combination of exhaust (de-dusting) and compressed air to reliably clean machinery. As with all Riedel products, this system features high reliability combined with excellent performance and economy in use, thus guaranteeing the user a swift return on his investment.
Riedel further manufactures so-called DCS’s (Dust Collection Systems) which offer the automatic collection and transport of dust and waste to central locations, improvements in factory cleanliness and guarantee reduced handling costs.
Services
Riedel’s value enhancing services
The Riedel range of value enhancing services is unusually comprehensive. It includes the on-site erection of equipment at customer’s own premises, value enhancing offers, and an efficient spare parts, maintenance and materials management service.
Riedel’s “all from a single supplier” policy also covers the programming of the automatic process, which satisfy the requirements of a fully automatic running process with excep-tionally high reliability and integrated track and trace functionality.
A particular feature of Riedel’s service concept is the Technical Improvement Programme. Under this programme, engineers, technicians and fitters plan and imple-ment the extension and modernisation of customers existing systems and plant. The adaptation of existing plant to new technical possibilities or legal requirements is carried out by an upgrade of either the electronic control systems or mechanical components.
Riedel systems conform to the ATEX safety regulations, EU health regulations and international standards.
