TAG Meeting Minutes A TAG meeting was held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6, 7 and 8 June 2005, to discuss Archives Search Reports (ASRs) reviewed by DAC personnel. Ron Thornhill presented the project fact sheets developed for each ASR reviewed. The TAG was made up of representatives from Huntsville Center and the following districts: Jacksonville, St. Louis, Rock Island, Savannah (and Georgia EPA), Wilmington, and Charleston. Lakeland Army Air Field, I04FL018901 This site consisted of 2,640.66 acres and was used as an Army airfield, which included an ordnance storage area, including a chemical magazine, a chemical demonstration area and a skeet range. During the site visit, the team did not find any MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The site is now used for commercial and residential purposes. An airport also exists on the site. The TAG recommends RAC 1 (no further action) for this site. This ASR is on the CWM scoping study list. There is no INPR in the ASR. This site may also be a HTRW project due to munitions constituents. 2. Opalocka Airport, I04FL027503 This site consisted of 4,240.51 acres and was used as a Navy, Marine and Navy Reserve Air Field, which included MEC/CWM storage, skeet and small arms ranges. Expended small arms ammunition was found on the site. During the site visit, the team did not find any MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. It is now used for commercial and residential purposes as well as an airport and park. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. 3. Orlando Army Air Field, I04FL001701 This site consisted of 2,822.77 acres and was used as an Army airfield, which included MEC storage. During the site visit, the team did not find MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. It is now commercial and residential areas as well as an airport. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. TAG Meeting Minutes

A TAG meeting was held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6, 7 and 8 June2005, to discuss Archives Search Reports (ASRs) reviewed by DAC personnel. 1. Lakeland Army Air Field, I04FL018901This site consisted of 2,640.66 acres and was used as an Army airfield, which

included an ordnance storage area, including a chemical magazine, a chemicaldemonstration area and a skeet range. During the site visit, the team did not find anyMEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The site is now used for commercial and residentialpurposes. An airport also exists on the site. The TAG recommends RAC 1 (no furtheraction) for this site. This ASR is on the CWM scoping study list. There is no INPR inthe ASR. This site may also be a HTRW project due to munitions constituents.

2. Opalocka Airport, I04FL027503This site consisted of 4,240.51 acres and was used as a Navy, Marine and Navy

Reserve Air Field, which included MEC/CWM storage, skeet and small arms ranges.Expended small arms ammunition was found on the site. During the site visit, the teamdid not find any MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. It is now used for commercial andresidential purposes as well as an airport and park. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAIfor this site.

3. Orlando Army Air Field, I04FL001701This site consisted of 2,822.77 acres and was used as an Army airfield, which

included MEC storage. During the site visit, the team did not find MEC, CWM orMPPEH debris. It is now commercial and residential areas as well as an airport. TheTAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

There is no INPR for this site in the ASR. The TAG also recommends that allcomments pertaining to biological warfare agent be removed from the ASR. Remove

extraneous material throughout the ASR not associated with Orlando AAF, i.e. PinecastleAAF, Ft. Pierce ATB and possibly Orlando AAF Toxic Gas and Decon Yard.

4. Sarasota Army Air Field, I04FL020701This site was used as an Army Air Field which supported chemical spraying

operations, a toxic gas yard, an ordnance storage area, an ordnance warehouse, skeetranges, a shooting-in butt and small arms ranges. It consisted of 1,805.89 acres.Currently, the site is used for an airport and residential and commercial areas. There isevidence of CAIS at this site. The TAG recommends RAC 2 for this site.

5. Dale Mabry Army Airfield, I04FLO11703This site consisted of 8,951.28 acres, which was used as an Army airfield. Rifle,

pistol, submachine gun, and skeet ranges, a firing-in butt, an ordnance storage area and achemical area existed on the site. During the site visit, the team did not find any evidenceofMEC or MPPEH debris. The site was divided into 6 areas of concern. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for Areas A and C through F and RAC 2 for Area B. Overall,the TAG recommends RAC 2 for this site.

6. Army Air to Ground Strafing Target, I04FL116701This property was used as an air to ground strafing target. It is currently a cattle

ranch. The acreage is not cited in the INPR or ASR. A signed FDE states that the site isFUDS eligible. The site visit team found no evidence of MEC or MPPEH debris. TheTAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site and to amend the INPR regarding theacreage.

7. New Smyrna Beach naval Auxiliary Air Field, I04FL097501This site consisted of 771.79 acres and was used as an auxiliary air field. No

MEC or MPPEH debris was found during the site visit. The land is currently used as amunicipal airport and an industrial park. There is no evidence of any MEC at this site.The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI.

8. Sopchoppy Precision Bombing Range, I04FL020601The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 7 August 2002 and

determined RAC 4 for Areas A and B and RAC 5 NDAI for Areas C through E. ThisTAG recommends no change and that overall the site remains RAC 4 due to practicebombs.

9. Okesiania Air to Ground Gunnery Range, I04FL105401This site consisted of 3,840 acres and was established as an air to ground gunnery

and radar bombing range for Boca Raton Army Airfield. The site visit team found noMEC or MPPEH debris. The site is currently used for agricultural purposes. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

10. MacDill Field, I04FL000801The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 27 October 1998

and determined that there was no further action required. This TAG recommends nochange and that the site remains RAC 5 NDAI.

11. Glade Crest Air to Ground Gunnery Range, I04FL105501This site consisted of 6,400 acres and was used as an air to ground gunnery and

radar bombing range for Boca Raton Army Airfield. There is no evidence of MEC use atthis site. During the site visit, the team found no MEC or MPPEH debris. There havebeen no reports or discoveries of any MEC since site closure. The TAG recommendsRAC 5 NDAI for this site.

12. St. Augustine Satellite Gunnery Field, I04FL0041501This site was established as an outlying airfield for NAS Jacksonville that

contained one magazine and consisted of 276 acres. It is now an airport and industrialpark. The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 26 November 2001and determined RAC 3 for this site. This TAG also recommends RAC 3.

13. Carlstrom Field, I04FL011302This site consisted of 696.36 acres and was used as a landing field. MEC storage

facilities were located on this property. During the site visit, the team did not find anyMEC or MPPEH debris. The land is now used for agricultural purposes, and a mentalinstitution is also located on the property. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for thissite. The TAG also recommends deleting the "hearsay relating to MEC burial" from theASR.

14. Holopaw Bomb Target, I04FL091301This bomb target site consisted of 13,120 acres and was used as a Navy practice

bomb target. The Huntsville Center TAG evaluated this ASR on 22 May 2001 andrecommended RAC 5 for this site. However, this TAG evaluated this ASR andrecommends that the score be changed to RAC 4 due to practice bombs.

15. Lakeland Small Arms Range, I04FL014001This site consisted of 1,625.38 acres and was used as a small arms range for rifles

and pistols. There is a potential for MEC presence due to expended small armsammunition. Currently the land is a residential area. The TAG recommends RAC 5NDAI for this site.

16. Cummer Outlying Field, I04FL089301This site consisted of 585.63 acres and was used as an outlying field and later a

bomb target. There is documented evidence of MEC use at this site. The TAGrecommends RAC 4 due to practice bombs for the entire site. The fact will be changed toreflect only one area of concern instead of three areas of concern.

17. Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Target #7,104FL009701This site consisted of 640 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is currently

used for cattle grazing. There is a potential for MEC presence due to practice bombs.The TAG recommends RAC 4 for the entire site. Also, the site will be changed to onearea of concern instead of three areas of concern.

18. Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Target #8,104FL009801This site consisted of 640 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is currently an

industrial park. There is a potential for MEC presence due to practice bombs. The TAGrecommends RAC 3 for the entire site. Also, the site will be changed to one area ofconcern instead of three areas of concern.

19. Sarasota Army Air Field Small Arms Range, I04FL041201This site consisted of 1,466.66 acres and was used as a small arms range for rifles,

pistols and sub-machine guns. Currently the site is the Sarasota International TradeCenter and a golf course. There is a potential for MEC presence due to expended smallarms ammunition. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

20. Lake Weir Bombing Range, I04FL113001This site consisted of 6,400 acres and was used as a bombing target. It is now

used for recreational purposes. No MEC or MPPEH debris was found during the sitevisit. No MEC presences, confirmed or potential, exist for this site. The TAGrecommends RAC 4 for this site since it was used as a bombing target.

21. Fort Lauderdale Housing Area, I04FL024901This site consisted of 1,179.98 acres and was used as a Naval air station and

Army housing unit. 18.52 acres of this property is not FUDS eligible. The property iscurrently an airport. There is no evidence of this property being associated with abombing or target range. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

22. Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Target #5,104FL009501This site consisted of 640 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is currently

conservation areas and campgrounds. There is a potential for MEC presence due topractice bombs. The TAG recommends RAC 4 for the entire site. Also, the site will bechanged to one area of concern instead of three areas of concern.

23. Longboat Key Bombing and Gunnery Range, I04FL015301This site was established as a bombing and gunnery range for Sarasota Army

Airfield. It consisted of 210.46 acres. Area A consisted of 13 acres, which was used asan emergency landing strip. It is now residential, commercial and recreational properties.There is no MEC presence, confirmed or potential, associated with this area. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for Area A. Area B consisted of 197.46 acres, which wasused as bombing, gunnery and rocket ranges. It is now residential, commercial andrecreational properties. There is a potential MEC presence due to practice bombs androckets and expended small arms ammunition. The TAG recommends RAC 4 for thisarea. Overall, the TAG recommends RAC 4 for this site.

24. Vero Beach Bomb Target No. 1,104FL090801The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 22 May 2001 and

determined that the potential exists for subsurface MEC and recommended a RAC 4 forthis site. This TAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

25. Stirling Bomb Target, I04FL090101The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 22 May 2001 and

determined that the potential exists for subsurface MEC and recommended a RAC 3 forthis site. This TAG also recommends RAC 3 for this site.

26. 26-Mile Bend Bomb Target, I04FL089901The Huntsville Center TAG met and reevaluated this ASR on 22 July 2002 and

the consensus was that the potential exists for subsurface MEC and a RAC score of 4 wasassigned to this site. This TAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

27. Fort Dade, I04FL002303This site consisted of 418.22 acres and was established as a depot and observation

post including gun batteries, an ammunition bunker, small arms range and bombardmentshelter. The site is currently a wildlife refuge and state park. A confirmed MECpresence exists due to expended small arms ammunition. The TAG recommends RAC 5NDAI for this site.

28. Campville Glider and Dive Bombing Range, I04FL011101This site consisted of 493 acres and was used as a glider and dive bombing range.

It is currently used for residential and agricultural purposes. No evidence exists thatindicates the site was ever used as a bomb target. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAIfor this site.

29. Davie Field, I04FL090201Davie Field property consisted of 480 acres and was used as a Navy outlying field

for NAS Miami. It is currently residential and commercial property. A public school isalso located on the property. There have been no reports of MEC since site closure.During the site visit, the team did not find any evidence of MEC or MPPEH debris. TheTAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

30. NAF & USCG Air Station Dinner Key, I04FL107801This property consisted of 26 acres and was used as Naval Air Facility prior to

and during World War I. It was also used as a U.S. Coast Guard Air Station from 1938until closure. During the site visit, the team found no evidence of any MEC or MPPEHdebris. The site is now used for recreational and commercial areas. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

31. Fort Lauderdale Bomb Target #1,104FL009101This site consisted of 160 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is now the

Everglades Wildlife Management Area. A potential MEC presence exists for this sitedue to practice bombs. The TAG recommends RAC 4 for this site.

32. Naval Air Station Lake City, I04FL084702This site consisted of 1,172.30 acres and was used as a Navy air field, which

included MEC storage, skeet and small arms ranges (including a machine gun range).During the site visit, the team found only expended .45 and .38 caliber projectiles. AreaA consisted of 34.85 acres and was used as the magazine area. It is now an industrialpark. No MEC presence exists for this area. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. AreaB consisted of 73 acres and was the firing ranges. It is now an industrial park. It is alsoused for home construction. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. Area C consisted of262.79 acres and was the site of an industrial area. It remains an industrial area. TheTAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. Area D consisted of 801.66 acres and was used as theairport runway. It is still an airport runway. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI.Overall, the TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

33. Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Target #2,104FL009201This site consisted of 640 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is currently

residential and commercial property. There is a potential for MEC presence due topractice bombs. The TAG recommends RAC 4 for this site.

34. Ft. Lauderdale Bomb Target #4,104FL009401This site consisted of 640 acres and was used as a bomb target. It is now a county

park and wildlife management area. There is a potential for MEC presence due topractice bombs. The TAG recommends RAC 4 for the entire site. Also, the site will bechanged to one area of concern instead of four areas of concern.

35. Eglin Gulf Test Range Theodolite Tower, I04FL014901This site consisted of 90.15 acres, which was used for a theodolite tower site. It is

now a state park. During the site visit, the team did not find any MEC or MPPEH debris.There is no evidence of MEC training, storage or disposal activities at this site. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. The INPR or FDE needs to be located andplaced in the ASR.

36. Bronson Air to Ground Gunnery Range, I04FL019501The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 22 May 2001 and

determined there was confirmed practice bomb debris on the site. Therefore the potentialfor additional MEC presence exists. The site was assigned a RAC 4. This TAG agreeswith the previous TAG results and recommends RAC 4 for this site.

37. Drew Field, I04FL028801Drew Field consisted of 8,773.40 acres and was used as an Army airfield, which

included CWM storage and training area, an ordnance storage area, grenade, 37 mm anti-tank and small arms ranges. It is currently an airport and commercial and residentialareas. A confirmed MEC presence exists due to bulk agent and CAIS. The TAGrecommends RAC 2 for this site. This site is on the CWM scoping study list and will beclosed out in agreement with state regulators. St. Louis District will locate the INPR andupdate the ASR accordingly.

38. Lake Hancock Small Arms and Bombing Range, I04FL013901The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 26 November 2001 and

determined that this was a confirmed practice bomb target; therefore the potential foradditional MEC presence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC score of 4 at thattime. This TAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

39. Orlando AAF Toxic Gas & Decontamination Yard, I04FL039601This site consisted of 2,111.5 acres and was used as a toxic gas and

decontamination yard which included CWM storage and training area and a pistol area.There is evidence of CWM training, storage and demonstration activities at this site. Theproperty is now used for commercial, residential and municipal areas. The CWM issueshave been addressed and state regulators have agreed to project closeout. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

40. Miami International Airport, I04FL026901The Miami Army Air Field consisted of 2,712 acres and was used as an Army

airfield. An airport is now located on this property. The land is also used for commercialand residential purposes. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

41. Clay Bomb Target, I04FL090501The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 22 May 2001 and

determined that there was confirmed practice bomb debris on the site; therefore thepotential for additional MEC presence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC scoreof 4 at that time. This TAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

42. Dry Tortugas CWS Site, I04FL007901This site consisted of 105 acres and was used as a chemical warfare service test

site. The site visit team found no evidence of MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The site isnow a national park. A certificate of clearance was issued on 12 June 1950. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

43. Columbus Precision Bombing Range #1, A04MS015501The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 7 August 2002 and

determined that this was a confirmed practice bombing range; therefore the potential forMEC presence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC score of 4 at that time. ThisTAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

44. Columbus Precision Bombing Range #3, A04MS015601The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 7 August 2002 and

determined that this was a confirmed practice bombing range; therefore the potential forMEC presence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC score of 4 at that time. ThisTAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

45. Columbus Precision Bombing Range #4, A04MS015701The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 7 August 2002 and

determined that this was a confirmed practice bombing range; therefore the potential for

MEC presence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC score of 4 at that time. ThisTAG also recommends RAC 4 for this site.

46. Grenada Army Airfield Rifle Range, A04MS011501This site consisted of 1,018.27 acres and was used as a small arms range. It is

now used for timber and agricultural purposes. A potential MEC presence exists due toexpended small arms ammunition. There have been no reports of MEC since closure.The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

47. Gulfport Poorman Flexible Gunnery Range, A04MS012501This site consisted of 2,843 acres and was used as a poorman gunnery range.

During the site visit, the team did not find any MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The areais now the DeSoto National Forest. There has been no evidence of MEC since siteclosure. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

48. Keesler Small Arms Range, A04MS025101This site consisted of 906.83 acres and was used as a small arms range complex.

It is currently a residential area; borrow pit, gun club range, and timber land. It appearsthat one of the old ranges is being used as a gun club range. There have been no reportsof MEC since site closure. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. AppendixE-4 will be removed from the ASR.

49. Horn Island CWS Quarantine Station, A04MS014201This site consisted of approximately 3,996 acres. The property was established as

a biological test and CWS disposal site. It is now a national park. A certificate ofclearance was approved in 1947, which indicated the land had not been used for artilleryor bombing purposes. Also a memorandum was issued indicating that soil tests taken in1947 showed no traces of toxic chemical contamination in the disposal area. There havebeen no reports of MEC since site closure. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. Thissite is on the CWM scoping study list, which will be closed out.

50. Gulfport Army Air Field, A04MS012401This site was established as a technical training school and consisted of a

complete airfield with ordnance storage, skeet range, gun clearance butt and trainingfacilities (including a gas chamber). It consisted of approximately 2,450.14 acres, whichis now an airport, golf course, and residential area. The National Guard also uses aportion of this property. A certificate of clearance was issued for this site in 1947 whichstates that the land has not been used for artillery or bombing purposes. There have beenno reports of MEC since site closure; however, there is evidence of chemical warfarematerial storage, training or disposal at this site. The TAG recommends RAC 3, due toCAIS kits, at this site.

51. Smith County Bombing and Gunnery Range, A04MS016901The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 22 July 2002 and

determined that this was a confirmed practice bombing range, therefore the potential forMEC presence exists. At that time the TAG recommended a RAC 4 for this site. This

TAG agrees with the results of the previous TAG and also recommends RAC 4 for thissite.

52. Camp McCain Maneuver Area, A04MS011301This site consisted of 30,617 acres and was established as a bombing range to test

bomb dropping mechanisms and a maneuvering area. The site visit team found noevidence of MEC, CWM or MPPEH. The site is now the Holly Springs National Forest.Although the site was established as a bombing range, the primary purpose of the rangewas to test bomb dropping mechanisms. There are no indications the bombs dropped, ifany, contained spotting charges or other hazardous materials. The TAG recommendsRAC 5 NDAI for this site.

53. Mallory Depot, G04TN016700This site consisted of 191.77 acres, which was used for the storage of spare parts

for training aircraft and consisted of 76 facilities. It is currently used as an industrialfacility. During the site visit, the team did not find any MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris.The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. There was no INPR in the ASR.

54. Maury Chemical Warfare Service (CWS) Plant, G04TN018100This site consisted of 50.636 acres and was used as a plant to produce carbon

filters for gas masks and for the conversion of activated carbon to whetlerite. The sitenever went into production. It is now an industrial facility. The site visit team found noevidence of MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI forthis site. There was no INPR in the ASR.

55. Holston Army Ammunition Plant, G04TN021200This site consisted of 531.24 acres and was established to manufacture bulk

explosives and consisted of two plants (Plants A and B) and an interplant railroad. Thearea was divided into three sites. Site 1 was used as the bulk explosives plant, which isnow a residential area. Site 2 was the interplant railroad and pipeline, and Site 3 was theraw materials plant for bulk explosives manufacture, which is now an industrial facility.The TAG recommends RAC 3, due to the potential for bulk explosives, for the entire site.There was no INPR in the ASR.

56. Duck River Chemical Warfare Service (CWS) Plant, G04TN017200This site consisted of 11.12 acres and was used to produce phosgene gas. It is

now an industrial area. There is no evidence of MEC storage and use at this site. Thereis evidence of chemical warfare materials being produced at the site. In 1945 the plantwas declared surplus. In 1946 the plant was dismantled and equipment was transferred toRocky Mountain Arsenal. All CWM was shipped to Redstone Arsenal. Empty bombbodies were shipped to Azusa, California. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for thissite. There was no INPR in the ASR.

57. Anniston Militia Target Range, I04AL319801This site consisted of 15.5 acres and was used as a rifle range for local militia. It

is now a golf course. There is no evidence of MEC usage, other than small arms

58. Napier Army Air Field, I04AL005603The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 4 March 2003 and

recommended RAC 5 for this site. It was determined that there were no MEC or CWMconcerns. This TAG agrees with the results and recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.Delete all references to "75 mm" from the ASR.

59. Theodore Ammunition Terminal, I04AL005800This site consisted of 1,920.06 acres and was used as an ammunition terminal. It

is now an industrial area. During the site visit, the team found no evidence of MEC,CWM or MPPEH debris. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. It is alsorecommended for project closeout.

60. Birmingham Army Air Base, I04AL004800This site consisted of 736.83 acres and was used as an army air base, which

included an ordnance/chemical storage area, gas chamber, small arms and skeet ranges,and a gas instructional building. The property is currently used as an airport andindustrial and residential areas. A potential MEC presence exists due to CAIS kits. TheTAG recommends RAC 2 for this site.

61. Birmingham CWS Mixing Plant 2,104AL010501This site consisted of 2.2 acres and was used as a CWS mixing plant. It is

currently a bakery. The plant did not manufacture explosives materials. It was usedstrictly for the production of HC smoke mix. There is no evidence of MEC, CWM orMPPEH debris or usage at this property. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for thissite.

62. Camp Gordon/Atlanta Naval Air Station, I04GA097500/I04GA093900This site consisted of approximately 2,453 acres and was used as an Army camp

and Naval air station. It is now an airport and residential and commercial areas. Thereis no evidence of MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris or usage at this property. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

63. Camp Gordon Rifle Range, I04GA098501This site consisted of 700 acres and was used as a small arms range complex. It is

now residential housing and roads. There have been no discoveries or reports of anyMEC since site closure. There is a potential MEC presence due to expended small armsammunition. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for the entire site, Areas A and B.The TAG also recommends Area A be considered for MC.

64. Camp Gordon Artillery Range, I04GA098401This property consisted of approximately 6,000 acres and was used as an artillery

range. The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 3 July 2001 and determinedthat the potential exists for subsurface MEC and recommended RAC 3 for Area B and

65. Harris Neck Army Air Field, I04GA007103This site consisted of 2,701.27 acres and was used as an army airfield including a

shooting-in butt, a skeet range and ordnance storage facilities. The property is now theU.S. Fish and Wildlife Refuge. Only a potential MEC presence exists due to expendedsmall arms ammunition. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

66. Glynco County Airport (Glynco NAS), I04GA081602This site consisted of 4,434.12 acres and was used as a naval air station. It is

currently an airport, industrial park and law enforcement training center. During the sitevisit, the team found no indications of MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. There have beenno reports of MEC since site closure. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

67. Cochran Field, I04GA058802This site consisted of 1,160.17 acres and was used as a flying training school,

which included a gas instruction building, pyrotechnic, small arms and chemicalmagazines, skeet and pistol ranges. The property is now an airport and industrial park.During the site visit, the team found no indications of any MEC, CWM or MPPEHdebris. A certificate of clearance was issued in 1947 which stated all land within the sitehad been given a careful visual inspection and cleared of all dangerous and/or explosivematerials reasonably possible to detect. Therefore, the TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAIfor this site.

68. Daniel Field, I04GA098901This site consisted of 633.58 acres and was used as an Army airfield. The

property is now an airport and residential area. There was no MEC, CWM or MPPEHdiscovered during the site visit. No MEC presence, confirmed or potential, exists. TheTAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site. Also, correct the project number in theASR.

69. Thomasville Bombing & Gunnery Range, I04GA105301The Huntsville Center TAG reevaluated this ASR on 3 July 2001 and determined

that this was a confirmed practice bombing range, therefore the potential for MECpresence exists. This site was assigned a TAG RAC score of 4 at that time. This TAGrecommends RAC 4 for Areas B and C and RAC 5 NDAI for Areas A and D, thus theoverall site is RAC 4.

70. Glynco Naval Air Station, I04GA081605This site consisted of 321.98 acres and was used by the Navy as part of a Naval

air station, which included ordnance storage facilities, small arms ranges, andimprovements associated with a Naval air station. It is currently a general aviationairport. There is no evidence of MEC usage at the site. During the site visit, the team didnot find any evidence of MEC or MPPEH debris. There is no evidence of chemicalwarfare training, storage, or disposal activities associated with the property. Only the

71. Arabia Mountain State Park, I04GA106401Arabia Lake is on Arabia Mountain State Park and consisted of approximately 6

acres. The lake was used as an underwater explosives testing area. It is now LakeArabia, but no swimming is allowed. A potential MEC presence exists due to explosivecharges of up to 90 lbs. The TAG recommends RAC 3 for this site.

72. U.S. Naval Ammunition Depot Charlotte, I04NC080303This site consisted of 2,266.31 acres and was used as a shell loading plant for 40-

mm anti-aircraft ammunition and consisted of ammunition storage facilities, ammunitionproduction lines and burning grounds. The site was divided into nine areas.

Area A consisted of 234 acres and was used as loading lines 1,2 and 3. It is nowa business park/industrial area. No MEC presence exists. The TAG recommends RAC 5NDAI. Area B consisted of 113 acres and was used for fuze and tracer assembly. It isnow a business park/industrial area. No MEC presence exists. The TAG recommendsRAC 5 NDAI. Area C consisted of 41.5 acres and was used for primer assembly. It isnow a business park. No MEC presence exists. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI.Area D consisted of 263.8 acres and was used as a storage area. It is now a businesspark/industrial plant. No MEC presence exists. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI.Area E consisted of 78.4 acres, which was the administrative area. It is now used forcommercial businesses. No MEC presence exists. Area F consisted of 20.1 acres andused as burning grounds. It is now a business park. A potential MEC presence exists dueto 40-mm rounds. The TAG recommends RAC 2 for this area. Area G consisted of 4acres and was the landfill. It is now the interstate and easement. No MEC presenceexists. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. Area H consisted of 25 acres and used as afilter bed, which is now a commercial building and highway. A potential MEC presenceexists due to 40-mm rounds. The TAG recommends RAC 3 for this area. Area I was theremaining lands and consisted of 1,488 acres. It is now a business park/industrial area.No MEC presence exists. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI.

Overall the TAG recommends RAC 2 for the entire site. The District has anadditional map showing the small arms range, which is not in the ASR. They willprovide a copy of map to Rock Island District (ASR author). The small arms range willbe RAC 5, which will result in checking for MC. Rock Island District will prepare RACscore sheet for small arms range.

73. Morris Field, I04NC059700This site consisted of 928.41 acres and was used as an Army Air Field, which

included an ordnance storage area, gas chamber, skeet range and a malfunction area. It isnow an airport. There is a potential for CAIS kits. There is evidence of MEC usage(small arms ammunition) at this site. The TAG recommends RAC 2 for this site.

74. Spencer Mountain Rifle Range, I04NC104100This site consisted of 67.32 acres and was used as a small arms range for Morris

Field. It is currently a park/recreational sports facility. The site visit team found no

76. Greensboro Army Air Force Rifle Range, I04NC102301This site consisted of 1,634 acres and was used as the range for Training Center

No. 10 for the Army Air Force. The site was divided into six areas.Area A consisted of 55 acres and was used as a rifle range. It is now a golf

course. A potential MEC presence exists due to CAIS, incendiary bombs, chemicallandmines and bomb clusters. The TAG recommends RAC 1 for this area. Area Bconsisted of 4 acres and was used as a sub-machine gun range. It is now a park. NoMEC presence exists for this area. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. Area Cconsisted of 1 acre and was used as a pistol range, which is now a park. Only thepotential for expended small arms ammunition exists for this area. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI. Area D consisted of 92 acres and was a maneuvering area.It is now a golf course, park and water treatment plant. Only the potential for expendedsmall arms ammunition exists for this area. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI. AreaE consisted of 32 acres and was the bivouac area, which is now a park. No MECpresence exists for this area. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this area. Area Fconsisted of 1,450 acres and was the remaining lands. It is now a golf course, park andwater treatment plant. No MEC presence exists for this area. The TAG recommendsRAC 5 NDAI for this area. Overall the TAG recommends RAC 1 for this site.

77. Charleston Army Air Force Base, I04SC045000It appears from the INPR that this site consisted of 320 acres. The site was used

as an ammunition storage area and an ordnance warehouse area. A portion of the site isundeveloped land and the other portion is being used by the U.S. Navy. There have beenno reports of MEC since site closure. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

78. Charleston Naval Weapons Station (NWS) & Charleston NW Station South Annex,I04SC080700/I04SC00200

Charleston NWS consisted of approximately 105.56 acres and the South Annexconsisted of approximately 47.83 acres. The Charleston NWS was used as a storage andammunitions facility for the Navy, and the South Annex was used as a logistics andstorage support facility and Naval prison. There is no evidence of MEC usage on thisproperty. The land currently consists of access roads, elementary/middle school, sewagefacility and WESTVACO land. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

80. Charleston Small Arms Range Annex, I04SC076601This site consisted of 1,379.1 acres and was established as a small arms range.

The property is now Charleston Southern University, residential areas, and portions of theland are undeveloped. There is evidence of small arms ammunition usage at the site. Apotential MEC presence exists due to expended small arms ammunition. During the sitevisit, the team found no evidence of MEC, CWM or MPPEH debris. The TAGrecommends RAC 5 NDAI for this site.

81. Andrews Precision Bombing and Gunnery Range, I04SC003401This ASR was reevaluated by the Huntsville Center TAG on 22 May 2001, which

determined that there was a potential for practice bombs to remain on the former site. Atthat time the TAG recommended RAC 4. This TAG agrees with the RAC score and alsorecommends RAC 4 for this site.

82. Charleston Precision Bombing and Gunnery Range #1,104SC002901This ASR was reevaluated by the Huntsville Center TAG on 22 May 2001, which

determined that there was a potential for practice bombs to remain on the former site. Atthat time the TAG recommended RAC 4. This TAG agrees with the RAC score and alsorecommends RAC 4 for this site.

83. Myrtle Beach Bombing and Gunnery Range, I04SC097801This site consisted of 2,019.95 acres and was used as bombing and gunnery range.

Currently the land is occupied by an outlet mall, residential area, clay mining, state part,beach hotels, condominiums and trailer parks. A potential MEC presence exists due to20-mm, 37-mm and 75-mm projectiles. The TAG recommends RAC 5 NDAI for thenorthern parcel and RAC 2 for the southern parcel. Overall, the TAG recommends RAC2 for this site.
