SURAH SURAH AL-TAUBAHAL-TAUBAH9: 44 – 599: 44 – 59

STRIVING IN ALLAH’S CAUSE AND FACING CHALLENGES WITH TAWAKKAL IN ALLAH


““The best amongst you are those who learn The best amongst you are those who learn the Qur’an and who teach it (to others).”the Qur’an and who teach it (to others).”

((Hadith reported by BukharyHadith reported by Bukhary))

“Now then, for that (reason), call (them to the Faith), and

stand steadfast as thou art commanded nor follow thou

their vain desires; but say: "I believe in the Book which

Allah has sent down; and I am commanded to judge justly

between you. Allah is Our Lord and your Lord. For us (is

the responsibility for) Our deeds, and for you for your

deeds. There is no contention between us and you. Allah

will bring us together, and to Him is (Our) final goal.”

(Qur’an: ash-Shura: 42: 15)


And say: "Work (righteousness): soon will Allah observe your And say: "Work (righteousness): soon will Allah observe your

work, and His Messenger and the Believers: soon will ye be work, and His Messenger and the Believers: soon will ye be

““BEHOLD, Allah has bought of the believers their lives and BEHOLD, Allah has bought of the believers their lives and

their possessions, promising them paradise in return, [and their possessions, promising them paradise in return, [and

promise which in truth He has willed upon Himself in [the promise which in truth He has willed upon Himself in [the

“only those ask thee for exemption who do not [truly] believe

in Allah and the Last Day and whose hearts have become a

prey to doubt, so that in their doubting they waver between

one thing and another.”

(Qur’an : Taubah: 9: 45)



““For, had they been [truly] desirous of setting out [with thee], they would For, had they been [truly] desirous of setting out [with thee], they would

“And among them there was [many a one] who said," Grant me

permission [to remain at home], and do not put me to too hard a test!"

Oh, verily, [by making such a request] they had [already failed in their

test and] succumbed to a temptation to evil: and, behold, hell will

indeed encompass all who refuse to acknowledge the truth!”




““Should good fortune alight on thee, [O Prophet,] it will grieve them; Should good fortune alight on thee, [O Prophet,] it will grieve them;

and should misfortune befall thee, they will say [to themselves], "We and should misfortune befall thee, they will say [to themselves], "We

have already taken our precautions beforehand!" - and will turn away, have already taken our precautions beforehand!" - and will turn away,

and will rejoice.”and will rejoice.”




“Say: "Never can anything befall us save what Allah has decreed!

He is our Lord Supreme; and in Allah let the believers place their trust!”

“And they swear by Allah that they do indeed belong to you the

fear : if they could but find a place of refuge, or any cavern, or a

crevice [in the earth], they would turn towards it in headlong haste.”

(Qur’an : Taubah: 9: 56-57)



“And among them are such as find fault with thee [O Prophet]

concerning [the distribution of] the offerings given for the sake of Allah:

if they are given something thereof, they are well-pleased; but if they

are not given anything thereof, lo! they are consumed with anger.”




““And yet, [it would be but for their own good] if they were to content And yet, [it would be but for their own good] if they were to content

themselves with what Allah has given them and [caused] His Messenger themselves with what Allah has given them and [caused] His Messenger

[to give them], and would say, “Allah is enough for us! Allah will give us [to give them], and would say, “Allah is enough for us! Allah will give us

[whatever He wills] out of His bounty, and [will cause] His Messenger [to [whatever He wills] out of His bounty, and [will cause] His Messenger [to

“O our Sustainer! Bestow on us grace from Thyself, and

endow us, whatever our [outward] condition, with

consciousness of what is right!"”

O our Lord! Make us to benefit from what You have taught us.O our Lord! Make us to benefit from what You have taught us.

O Lord! Teach us whatever that is beneficial for us.


O Allah! Make us to be people who guide (others) and who O Allah! Make us to be people who guide (others) and who

are (always) Guided (by Your Guidance) .are (always) Guided (by Your Guidance) .


Not of those who are astray and Not of those who are astray and

who lead people astray.who lead people astray.


O Allah! Guide us all O Allah! Guide us all

with Your Guidance.with Your Guidance.


And make us people who hasten And make us people who hasten

towards what pleases You.towards what pleases You.


And do not let us be protected (by others) except only And do not let us be protected (by others) except only

with Your Protection (as our Guardian).with Your Protection (as our Guardian).


And do not make us to be of those who differ from Your And do not make us to be of those who differ from Your

command and who are disobedient towards You.command and who are disobedient towards You.


And sufficient is Allah for us, And sufficient is Allah for us,

for He is the Best Protectorfor He is the Best Protector


And there is no power nor strength except And there is no power nor strength except

with Allah The Most High, the Most Esteem.with Allah The Most High, the Most Esteem.
