Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child health, including those that will yield positive early childhood experiences that contribute to the health and well-being of all children around the world.

Pathways:

improving use of essential health services.

reducing burden of infectious diseases that disproportionately affect pregnant women and young children, including through improving access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation.

due to poverty, poor health and nutrition, insufficient care and stimulation,

and other risk factors to early childhood development1

Enabling ECD in the three first years of life, “has rates of return of 7-10% across the life course through better education, health,

sociability, economic outcomes and reduced crime”

The Global Strategy expects returns of “at least US$100 billion in demographic dividends from investments in early childhood

and adolescent health and development”.

Projects should address major risks to early brain and child development

Projects should target major risks to early brain and child development that would be relevant to the target population (children in the first 1000 days of life).
