4 Scania Tachograph Services

All inclusiveAll the hardware to support Tachograph Services is factory installed in every new Scania truck. If you have an older Scania or another truck brand, retrofitting is easy. Worldwide data roaming is included so there are no unexpected costs when travelling outside the UK; a unique Scania feature.

Card hotel securityEvery company needs a physical company card for this service. With our convenient card hotel solution you can rest assured that everything is in safe hands providing total peace of mind.

In-Cab Information In the instrument cluster the driver can easily keep track of how long heor she has remaining before a break is required – without taking their eyes off the road for long.

In the office All data from the tachograph and driver card is automatically transferred with Remote Download to Scania’s secure servers and available to you whenever you want and wherever you are.

The portal 24/7 access from anywhereYou can log in to the portal from any device with Internet connection. The homepage automatically provides a summary of the most important events the portal has received.

Simple, Clear options - the portal is divided into four key areas:

• Operations – keep track of the data downloaded by drivers and vehicles

It starts with a regular follow up report by e-mail and ends with clear understanding of infringements. Follow up driver activities inreal-timeWhen you combine Tachograph Services with a Fleet Management Control subscription, you can follow up the current driver activity as well as available drive time at any given moment.

This compatibility allows you to integrate your Tachograph data with other systems that would benefit from having this data (e.g., salary systems).

Card hotelEvery company needs a physical company card connected to the Internet for authentication before a Remote Download. With our convenient card hotel we ensure that your company cards are connected and available for Remote Downloads at all times.

Company cardLinks the data from your digital tachograph to your company. You can either insert it into the tachograph, or, if using remote download, have it connected in the Scania Company Card Hotel.

ComplianceMeets EU standards* for secure downloading, storage, access and activity reports. Access your data online on a secure server through the Scania Tachograph portal online – anytime you need it. For remote downloads, the data will download automatically wherever the truck is located.

Daily graphic reports See the drive and rest time displayed graphically. See daily activities listed plus an activity summary.

Data trafficAll data traffic related to Remote Download is handled by the Scania Communicator and there is no additional cost for data traffic.

Data Transfer (webservice)If you already have a preferred analysis provider then we can offer all the benefits of Remote Download and connect directly to them in the background. Scania already connect with the majority of tachograph analysts in the UK so contact us for more details.

DownloadingDownload remotely from the vehicle using Scania Tachograph Services – handling tachograph data automatically. Driver data can be downloaded automatically or by simply pushing a button.

Driver and vehicle activity reports Make sense of the tachograph data to make legal compliance easier. Get daily totals for each vehicle.

Driver cardDriver card data should be downloaded every three weeks or so, since the card may fill up after 28 working days. After that, old data will be overwritten without warning.

ICLThe ICL (Instrument Cluster) in your Scania vehicle shows remaining drive time until next break must be taken. Helps driver avoid infringements without taking the eyes of the road.

Infringement letterThe system will print a letter to be signed by the driver to acknowledge an infringement. This can help you avoid heavy fines. It shows you are working actively to follow EU legislation.

Other tachograph servicesYou can still stop at a Scania workshop for a physical download. And if you invest in the necessary equipment you can download the data yourself, just log on to the Scania Tachograph portal and transfer the data to our secure servers. For driver cards, you can purchase a card reader and PC software from Scania.

PortalThe Scania Tachograph Services Portal is available 24/7 and contains a complete suit of follow-up reports and alarm settings to ensure that you never miss important events.

RetrofittingIf you have an older Scania vehicle or another make, you can still install state-of-the-art Scania Tachograph technology. Upgrade your entire fleet.

Remote downloadsAutomatically store both vehicle and driver data on our secure servers once a month – so you don’t have to think about it.

Remote download buttonButton in the vehicle that allows the driver to start a remote download of driver card data at any time when the ignition is on and the driver card is inserted into the tachograph.

Scania Secure StorageYour data is safely stored on a secure server, accessible only through the Scania Tachograph Portal – any time, no matter where you are.

System requirements (office)Personal Computer (PC) with Windows XP (or later) and Internet Explorer 7 or later (or other common browser). If you are NOT signed up with Scania Card Hotel you also need: Personal Computer (PC) with Windows XP (or later) online 24/7, Smart Card reader, Internet connection 1 Mb/s or higher, Tacho File Transfer.

System requirements (vehicle) For Remote Download: Digital tachograph – Stoneridge (7.1 or later) or VDO (1.3 or later). Remote Download button, Scania Communicator for wireless data transfer (version 2.1 or later for automatic driver card downloads).

TachographStores vehicle driving data. Data should be downloaded at least every three months generally, but legislation varies from country to country.
