How to reach/leave Rome
Airports:
Fiumicino “Leonardo Da Vinci” airport: located about 26 km from the center, is connected to the
city by train and bus.
By train
We suggest the Non-stop Leonardo express train to and from Termini station (connecting with the
Metro – lines A e B); it leaves every 30 minutes, at 08 min and 38 min, and takes 31 minutes to get
to Termini station. One way ticket costs 14 euro per person and can be purchased at the airport
train station (ticket offices or self service machines), at authorized points of sale (coffee bars,
newsagents’ etc.) or online . For further information, you can check here
By bus
We suggest you Terravision Shuttle Bus, that serves the route between the airport and Termini
station. It leaves about every 30 minutes (less frequent at night) from Terminal 3, bus stop n°3.

By taxi
Taxis for Rome are found at the exits of both the domestic and international arrival terminals. From
Fiumicino Airport to the centre of Rome, the journey takes between 40-50 minutes. The price is
between 45/70 euros, according to the distance travelled.
Ciampino “G.B. Pastine” Airport: situated about 20 km from the city, is the other airport of Rome,
where low cost flights usually arrive. It is linked with the city by bus and metro.
By metro
Special buses (ATRAL/COTRAL service) connect Airport to Anagnina Metro Station (Line A), with
trains running to the city centre. They leave from the square in front of the airport. More details
By bus
Terravision Shuttle Bus serves also the route between Ciampino airport and Termini station. It
leaves about every 30 minutes from Arrivals area bus stop n°3. One-way ticket is € 4 (web price) or
€6 (ticket office at the airport). More details
By taxi
Taxis for Rome stop in the small square in front of the airport. To the centre of Rome, the journey
takes between 30-40 minutes. The price is between 30/40 euros, according to the distance
travelled.

How to get around the city
Metro and buses (There are two metro stops beneath Termini station (A/B lines) and a bus
terminus in front of it) The public transport system is based on three Metro lines (A, B, B1) and a network of services on the surface (buses, trams). Buses run from 5.30 am to 11.30 am (afterwards only night services are working); the Metro is open from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm (on Friday and Saturday evenings until 1.30 am). A single ticket costs € 1,50 and you can use it for the metro (one trip) as well as for buses (during 100 minutes). Tickets may be purchased at every railway and Metro station, although also from licensed sales points (newspaper kiosks, bars, tobacconist, Tourist Information Points). Taxi Taxis in Rome are white and have a TAXI sign on their roofs. You can take one at Taxi Stands or you can call for it; each radio taxi company has a number to request a taxi. We suggest:

Taxis have a meter that starts at a preset amount which differs by time of day.

The meeting will take place at the Sapienza University Faculty of Architecture (Via Gramsci, 53), in the
Aula Magna. The registration will take place at the Foyer of the Aula Magna; all guests will receive
materials and their badges.
Parallel meetings (IRO meeting and UNICA Working Groups) will take place at the Egyptian Academy (Via
Omero 4), located at a very short distance from the Faculty. The Welcome reception and will take place at
the Academia Belgica and at the Egyptian Academy (Via Omero 8 & 4 respectively).

The meeting will take place at the Main Campus of Sapienza University of Rome (Piazzale Aldo Moro, 5),
in the Rectorate Building, Governing Bodies Room (Sala Organi Collegiali). When you enter the building,
please enter the glazed door; in there someone of the University Staff will wait for you.
The official dinner will take place at the Palazzo Taverna Restaurant (Via Monte Giordano, 36), located in
the historical centre of Rome. At walking distance there are, among other sites, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza
Navona, the Pantheon, San Peters’ square (the Vatican) and Piazza Campo dei Fiori.

Tram: 3, 19, Piazza Thorwaldsen in front of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna. From Stazione Roma Termini (main railway station): (There are no buses which go directly from Termini to the Venue)
Metro: LINE B (blue line) direction REBIBBIA. Get off at POLICLINICO. Then go up onto the street (Viale Regina Margherita) and catch either a 3 Tram (“Dir: Piazza Thorwaldsen”) or 19 bus or tram (“Dir: Piazza Risorgimento”). Both stop at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, (left) which is next to the Faculty (400 mt). Bus: Go onto the bus plaza in front of Termini and find the no. 90. Take this for 3 stops until NOMENTANA/REGINA MARGHERITA. Get off and cross to the bus stop for the 3 / 19 tram and catch either of these as above. From the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna, head northwest on Viale delle Belle Arti; turn right toward via A. Gramsci; continue straight onto Via A. Gramsci: the Faculty will be on the right.
