everything they can just to stay above

The fact that you are looking into
earning money on the internet by
writing tells me a lot about you.
You’re smart.
That means you want to get paid for
what you KNOW.
The truth is the internet has an
insantiable apitite for BRAND new
content that continues to grow every

I’m sure you’ve seen how people behave
in public with their phones. Just
think, they could be reading YOUR
article.
The people who know how to create this content are in the drivers seat to earn
really good money and I want to help you get your piece of the pie.
Whatever you do just focus on getting better by doing. Write-write-write!
Writing is like dancing, once you enjoy it, it’s hard to not GET GOOD at it.

WAIT! BEFORE YOU SUBMIT ANYTHING
TO ANYBODY READ THIS.
First impressions, they can be a real pain.
Especially when you don’t know what’s on the line, because it’s your first time
and you make a HUGE mistake.
I don’t want you to fall victim to this so I want to WARN you about a few things
up front:
1. Reputation.
If you are a writer do you appear to be one on social media or are you just
goofing off all the time sharing cat pictures? Make sure you are aware of
the impression you are leaving. If you want to be a pro, be professional.
2. Skills & Knowledge.
Making money as a freelance writer is the result of knowing + doing. If you
want to increase your income you have to increase your knowledge as a
freelance writer here’s how:
a. $ - Educate yourself.
Read SUCCESSFUL FREELANCE WRITING ONLINE. This is a page turner
written by Tom Ewer who is an absolute trailblazer in the Freelance
Writer community. He documents in this book exactly what he did step
by step in order to earn enough money to quit his GOOD PAYING
corporate job.
b. $$ - Get basic training.
Join Carol’s Freelance Writer’s Den. She’s one of the best writers out
there. Make sure you tell her I sent you. You can also try her wildly
popular and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 3-WEEK MINI BOOT CAMP This interactive
training will teach you how to pitch your articles to editors, find
gigs, and earn more money as a writer.
c. $$$ - Get advanced training.
Join Jon Morrow’s guest blogging course. Jon is the editor of
copyblogger and has earned a reputation as the #1 guest post trainers
out there. He knows what a good article looks like AND he’s basically
the best out there is at teaching you how to write one.

3. Attitude.
They don’t say that successful people have tough skin for nothing. There is
a reason why you will get more NO’s than YES’s when you’re starting out so
don’t get discouraged. Instead use all the feedback you receive, negative
or otherwise to improve. It’s ok to feel “hacked off” when you get declined
just remember success is the best revenge. Laugh last, laugh long, laugh
LOUD.

ONE MORE THING…
When it comes to Digital Sharecropping just say no.
You will come out much better by writing posts for your own blog and promoting
affiliate products like Steve Scott than you would writing articles for a penny a
word. When it comes to making money strategy is critical.
That’s why I don’t recommend the following four sites.
They are good to get your feet wet and get familiar with the “process” at best,
consider it “paid” training if you will. (err “very low” that is)
As you get the hang of it you will be getting your articles published which is a
good feeling after all. Just seeing written by “your name” on a popular site
feels good when you’re starting out.
Yahoo Contributor
$2-15 per post depending on assignment.
Examiner.com
$2-$15 per post or much less varying online reviews.
Demand Studios
$15-$30 per post or more depending on length and topic of the article.
E copy writers
Can earn up to $20.00 - $25.00 per hour by taking basic writing projects. $0.30
cents per word based on experience and time spent copywriting.

WRITING FOR BLOGS
Writing for establish blogs is an excellent way to earn some money. Again I want
you to use this as an opportunity to get your feet wet as a guest post writer.
Writing for these blogs alone won’t be enough to support a career but it would do
wonders for building up your portfolio which will help you land higher paying
gigs with your own private clients.
Ultimately you NEED your own client base. This is what it’s all about.
Make a Living Writing
You can thank Carol Tice for motivating bloggers to start paying for guest posts.
She still offers $50 for a guest post with one exception.
You need to be a student or a graduate of her or Jon Morrow’s training course.
All I can say is their students succeed for a reason.
If you knew better you would do better. #OldSchoolKnowledge

WRITING FOR MAGAZINES
When you approach a magazine or print publication you need to appear professional
and experienced.
This is why at this point it’s so important to have been published already on the
smaller sites and blogs. This will give you confidence, credibility, and an
impressive portfolio.
In order to get published by online magazines and print publications you will
need to know how to submit a winning pitch.
You’ll notice below they don’t publicly offer how much they will pay per article.
This is because it varies.
You will need to know what to say when you first contact them and how to follow
up.
Not to harp but this is exactly the type of stuff you learn from Jon Morrow’s
guest blogging course.
The following magazines pay from $50 - $150+ per article:
University of
Minnesota
Momentum
Magazine
noupe
TravelandLeisure.com
mediabistro.com
Harvard

ENTERTAINMENT:
Writing for entertainment blogs can be fun especially if you are the type that
has strong opinions about popular topics.
If you enjoy traveling and have stories to tell you will do well writing
entertainment guest posts.
In order to get your guest posts published in entertainment blogs you have to
pitch the editors property in order to get them to open your email in the first
place.
This is one of the best features of the writer’s den Carol explains all of these
details step by step. The only issue is her class is so popular it fills up
quickly so you may have to join the waiting list or check out Jon’s class if it’s
not full.
The following entertainment blogs have been known to pay between $50-$150+ per
post:

TECHNOLOGY:
Writing for technology blogs can be very lucrative especially if you are the type
that’s into the latest gadgets and trends.
In this category you should start to realize how the whole value game works on
the internet. The most valuable guest post you can write for a technology blog
is a tutorial.
If you know how to do something cool using the latest technology chances are you
will have no problem getting money for your guest post explaining it.
This is what I learned from Enstine Muki a developer turned problogger. It’s
hard work but it can pay off big. If you are willing to learn how to create cool
useful things with technology you can get paid over and over again:
1. Get paid selling tutorials about what you know.
2. Get paid writing code as a freelance programmer.
3. Get paid creating your own app like Enstine did.
It all starts with learning how to code or use adobe Photoshop or WordPress.
You can also make video presentations for your tutorials. I recommend Camtasia
Studio. The screen capture is awesome and it’s really easy to learn.
The following technology blogs have been known to pay between $50-$150+ per guest
post or tutorial:

HOME AND LIFE:
If you aren’t into the technology scene that big then maybe you should check out
the home and life genre.
People are always looking for ways to improve their life. Rather it’s saving
money, reducing stress, or tips for organizing it’s all the same.
If you are motivated to help people and you like to put together articles that
explain how you did it, this genre is for you.
Remember use these opportunities to grow you portfolio so that you can recruit
your own direct clients later. There are tons of home and life blogging
opportunities in your area you just have to know how to find them.
These home and life blogs have been known to pay $50-$150+ per guest post:

RESEARCH REVIEWS:
Getting paid to write research and review guest posts is probably the fastest
growing trend for freelance writers.
Why?
Because reviews sell products.
Thanks to the internet people research items before they buy stuff and they read
several reviews on average before the make important expensive purchases.
That’s why your guest post articles highlighting the pro’s and con’s of new
products are so valuable.
Once you write a few and get paid for reviewing products eventually you will
realize that you can write reviews on your own site and make all the money.
However, strategy is important and you have to get through today in order to make
it to next week. I get it trust me, just stay focused and continue to move in the
right direction, you’ll get there.
Just take one step at a time, you can build your own site it’s not as hard as you
think, it starts with registering a domain name.
The following blogs have been known to pay $20-$150+ per guest post:

WRITING FOR THE “GUBERMINT”
Personally I believe the worst possible situation that you can put yourself in is
to be dependent on the government for a pay check. This post should teach you
something that you can learn from the government shutdown.
Take it from me you really need to diversify what you’re doing because government
contracts although enticing and sometimes lucrative can come with messy strings
attached that you don’t need as an independent freelance writer.
However, I don’t want to restrict you from making some money--just make sure you
don’t ONLY write for the Government or it’s psudo-government acronym laden
entities that seem to keep popping up like stains on a white t-shirt. Mix it up
already.
This page is a place holder for additional “government” based opportunities. I
will be adding more in the future. If you know of any other government freelance
writing gigs please let me know and I’ll update this page.
unfurlough.us – This site made headlines when it was launched after the US
Government shutdown on October 1st 2013. This just shows the next best
opportunity to having a cushy government job is to be a freelancer, go
figure.

Would it mean having enough time to enjoy LIVING?
What about taking an exotic vacation to South Africa, Australia, or the Florida
Keys?
What would your lifestyle look like if it was “PERFECT”?
