Normal Operating Sounds

You may or may not hear the following sounds from yournew dryer:

A. SUSPENSION ROLLERS The dryer drum issupported by a set of suspension rollers. At timesthere may be a thumping or rolling sound when thedryer starts. This may happen if the dryer has notbeen in use for a period of time, or after a heavyload has remained in the dryer drum for an extendedperiod, creating a temporary fiat spot on the edgeof the roller. The noise should dissipate as the dryeroperates and the fiat spots smooth out.

B. AIR FLOW BYSTEH Your dryer is equipped with ahigh volume air handling system. In some installationsthere may be some sounds associated with airmovement throughout the dryer, including the airduct, blower, and exhaust system. This is normal andcan vary with load size and type,

C. GAS VALVE (Gas models only.) The flow of gas iscontrolled by electric solenoids, During operation theremay be a clicking sound as the valve opens and closes tocontrol the gas flow.

D. GAS BURNER (Gas models only.) When the burneris operating, there may be sounds generated asthe

air flow mixes with the gas flame, This noise is normaland wilt only occur when the gas is ignited in thecombustion tube,

To change the cycle once it has begun, press the cancelbutton before selecting a new cycle. Just turning thecycle selector knob to another selection will not changethe cycle.

Auto Dry CyclesAuto Dry cycles take the guesswork out of selecting thecorrect drying time for each load. Moisture sensing barsat the back of the dryer drum sense the moisture levet ofthe toad as it tumbles through the heated air. With AutoDry cycles, the load will automatically be dried at theselected temperature to the desired dryness level. AutoDry cycles save time and energy and protect fabrics.

The estimated drying time witt be displayed for about 5minutes. Then the outside of the display will light up in acircular track to indicate the drying time is automaticallybeing determined by the sensors.

When the load has reached the selected dryness level, itwill continue to tumble during a cool down period. Thishelps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handleduring unloading.

Drying time varies depending on size and dampness ofload and fabric type. If the toad is too small or almostdry, the moisture sensing bars may not detect enoughmoisture to continue the cycle and the cycle may endafter a few minutes. If this occurs, select a Timed Drycycle.

Room temperature and humidity, type of installation andelectrical voltage or gas pressure can also affect dryingtime.

Do not use any type spray cleanser when cleaning thedryer interior. Hazardous fumes or electrical shock couldoccur.

INSIDE

Clean the lint filter after every load. Lint build-up on thefilter restricts air flow, which causes longer drying times. The filter is located at the bottom of the door open-ing. Remove by pulling straight up. Remove the lint andreplace the filter.

Occasionally a waxy build-up may form on the tint filterand/or moisture sensing bars from using dryer-addedfabric softener sheets. To remove this build-up, washthem with warm, soapy water. Dry the filter thoroughlyand replace. Do not operate the dryer without the lintfilter in place.

If the dryer drum becomes stained from noncolorfastfabrics, clean the drum with a damp cloth and a mild liq-uid household cleanser. Remove cleanser residue before

drying the next toad.

• Every 18 months an authorized servicer should clean thedryer cabinet interior and exhaust duct. These areas cancollect lint and dust over time. An excessiveamount of lint

build-up could result in inefficient drying and possible firehazard.

OUTSIDE

Clean the cabinet with mild soap and water. Never useharsh, gritty or abrasive cleansers.

If the cabinet becomes stained, clean with diluted chlo-rine bleach (1 part bleach to 8 parts water). Rinse severaltimes with clear water.
