NEW STUDENTSStudents who have never enrolled at Sul Ross State University will apply for admission at www.applytexas.org. If a student is accepted, notification will be made by mail as well as a courtesy call, and will complete all admissions requirements before registering for courses. Students must have 42 transferable semester credit hours and a 2.0 grade point average or greater for admission.

Contact the Administrative Assistant on your campus to discuss getting your degree plan that will include your assigned faculty adviser. Sul Ross has implemented faculty advising and you will need to consult your adviser before registering for classes each semester.

LOBO PASS ACCOUNT SET-UPIn order to better manage student records, all campus registration is conducted online via the Banner system.First set up your account. Your Lobo ID number begins with "A" and is listed on the label of your acceptance letter.• Your PIN is your date of birth –

mmddyy• Go to lobopass.sulross.edu and

complete the right side of the Lobo Pass

• Create a password• Use your Lobo ID and password

to apply for scholarships, log in to Blackboard and your email, and access account information. It is also used to log on to a campus computer.

REGISTERING FOR CLASSESOn any computer connected to the Internet, log into mySRSU at www.sulross.edu and choose LoboOnline. It will take you to Banner, and from there, choose the Student tab, Registration, and then Register, Add or Drop Classes. If you've forgotten your User ID and PIN, please contact IT Support (1-432-837-8888 from off-campus).

REMEMBER: You will need to have visited with your adviser prior to this point.Selecting CoursesSearch by subject, course number, title, schedule type, campus, instructor, time/day, or part of term. You must select at least one subject.Press the shift and down arrow to highlight and select courses. Use the same procedure to search other subjects, such as course schedule. A box appears to the right of all classes that are available for registration. Please check the box to select the course. Press Register to add your name in the class. To make changes, use the Reset button. A letter "C" in the box denotes the class is closed. If you know the course number for the courses in which you wish to enroll (look to the right of the schedule entry for the course), you may enter the CRN in the boxes on the first page. When you finish course selections, all of your classes should appear on the screen. Print this page for reference—you will receive no other confirmation of your schedule.

WEB COURSESWeb courses (courses offered online) are not self-paced and require considerable work in order to meet requirements. Students should be prepared to devote approximately 12 hours per week to accomplish the work required for a 3-hour class i.e. the student should devote approximately the same study time for an online course as would be spent in a regular class with outside work requirements—a measure generally calculated at 3 hours outside work for each hour in class. Students must have a high-speed internet connection available on a regular basis for course work and other assignments whenever University computer laboratories are not open. Computer labs are open Mon.-Thurs., 8 a.m.-9 p.m., and Fri. 8 a.m.-5 p.m. University computer labs are not open on weekends, but some computer work may be done from the SWTJC libraries. A student who fails to participate in assignments during

any one work period may be subject to being withdrawn from class and given a grade of F. Web courses are accessed through Blackboard under mySRSU. The login is your official Sul Ross email address and password. If you have not obtained an email address, call the University Help Desk at 888-691-5071. Tutorials for instruction on use of the Blackboard server are available on the Technology Help Page at http://www.sulross.edu/page/2509/using-blackboard-9.
