Superheroes may look like ordinary people on the outside, but they possess unique powers which set them apart – just like engineers. After all, it’s not easy to keep your project moving forward while battling mutating deadlines and pitiless competitive pressures. Engineers are constantly battling time thieves and budget vaporizers in order to have a triumphant product release.

Engineers are also con�dent risk takers, who value intuition, logic, and living meaningful lives. Engineering is not just a way of thinking in all aspects of life, it's a whole way of life in its own merits. As a tribute to the greatest engineer Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya, the engineering community across India celebrates Engineer Day on 15th September every year. This day remined everyone about the silent superheroes who are changing the world one step at a time.

With India celebrating Mokshagundam Visvesvarya’s birthday on 15th September as World Engineers Day, SciTech did not miss this opportunity either to show its gratitude. They celebrated Engineers Day with full vigour and enthusiasm. The event was aptly coined ‘Nuts & Bolts Day’.

The evening opened with an exercise in group formation, after which four teams were made namely Nuts, Bolts, Hammer and Bearing. Both Vishal Shanbaug & Sheryl Fernandes enthralled the audience with their excellent hosting skills.

The evening witnessed some spectacular games which included ‘Guess the Logo’. The logos of various Engineering and Pharmacy Companies were shown to the teams and they had to guess the right name from the image.

The next game was ‘Innovation Day’ where the teams had to come together and innovate anything out of pre-given parts of a machine.

A team building game called ‘Blind Sheep’ that accentuates leadership skills was also energetically played by all the associates.

As the session progressed, Mr. Annadurai encouraged the Vender Development and Technicians to make a prototype Accura 200 - a multiple changeover of carrier link for band sealing machine.

Town Hall meetings are used as an opportunity for a full business review, covering many topics from goals to results to project updates to community relations. These meetings lead to greater employee understanding of key business issues and provide increased employee feedback.

ACPL Dahanu, Kandivali and Shirwal organized a Q1 Town Hall for FY 17 with a common theme ‘Evolve’. The meets were conducted with a clear intention to provide an update to all the associates. All the ACPL units in their own unique way conducted Town Halls to brand, reinforce and reiterate ACPL OD (Organizational Development) intervention.

ACPL TOWN HALLS

ACPL Shirwal marked its Town Hall on 1st September. A session was organised where they showed a plant growing into a tree with a strong foundation and solid foothold. The attempt was to show the trunk stems from Evolve and the branches supporting the trunk are the capabilities of associates. This innovative and informative act was also supported with an engaging quiz.

ACPL Kandivali conducted its Town Hall on 7th September with a unique theme, ‘Mela’ (Fair). Fairs usually have multiple engaging stalls of various interesting things, and this Town Hall too had vivid stalls of boasting di�erent strategic capabilities in an attempt to reinforce learning with auditory, visual and kinaesthetic techniques. This was then followed with exciting quiz competitions namely ‘Wheel of Capability’ and ‘Aim the Capability’.

ACPL Dahanu organized its Town Hall meeting on 14th September. They created a co�ee house set up. The most interesting aspect of this meet was the appreciation showed by the associates where they experienced and acknowledged each other’s e�orts and also showered kudos for their contributions. Later, the session was followed with a small quiz competition.

ACPL Central and Kandivali collaborated to organize ‘Children’s Felicitation’ program in grand style amidst a great audience with the extremely cute ‘Minion’ theme on 25th September in Mumbai. Children of associates were felicitated for achieving huge success in acdemics.

This year, the event was also combined with a CSR activity named ‘CSR Day Celebrations’. Kids and co-coordinators were invited from Drusthi Foundation, Mumbai.

The highlights of the event were: • The minion air walker• Exciting games for kids • A keychain beading artist

The kids were seen dancing on their favourite dance numbers and some of them also sang for the audience. As the evening progressed, the kids were felicitated with certi�cates and goodies as a return gift.

CSR has been the integral part of ACG since its inception. The organization believes in building sustainable communities that are economically, environmentally and socially healthy and resilient. It has always provided a suitable platform for the people to showcase their talent and also given ample of opportunities to ful�ll their dreams. ACG is elated to announce that Palpreet Singh Brar, winner of National Finals of ACG-NBA Jump, India’s �rst National basketball talent search program, was selected 11th in the fourth Round of the NBA D-League Draft held in New York. 6’9 ft tall Palpreet Singh Brar (22), who hails from Mukatsar Sahib, Punjab, becomes the �rst Indian cager to be dragged directly in NBA-D league. He also becomes the second Indian caged drafted for NBA-D league after Satnam Singh Bhamara.

Hoopster Palpreet was provided the platform by NBA-India in association with ACG Worldwide group, launched the National Talent hunt last year. Elated Palpreet said, "After hearing my name, I became a bit emotional. I was very happy that my dream of playing in the best league will soon come true. I am thankful to ACG NBA Jump for this opportunity. I am happy with the e�orts I have put in and will continue to work hard. Now that I am going to compete with some of the bests in the world, my focus is to become a stronger player”.

ACG believes that every creature has a right to live free from pain and su�erings. The company has always extended its help in animal sector by providing treatments for disease prevention and control, and by innovating to improve the nutritional quality of the �nished product.

Recently, at an event the ‘SPACE veterinary exhibition in France’, Ms. Jane Hartley, US Ambassador to France was highly impressed with Vikram Tahil, Director of Custom Capsules (ACG). Ms. Hartley was very happy to learn that CCPL’s contribution in improving animal health and productivity on European and American farms though its solutions.

ACG holds the health and safety of employees as a top priority and is engaged in improving its safety level through various initiatives and policies. ACG Lukaps EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) executives Mr. Zlatko Tota and Mr. Prasad Manoorkar started with many activities connected with environment, health and safety during September. As a part of the program, a �re protection drill session was organized on 30th September near Lukaps.

The Satara Hill Marathon is considered to be one of the toughest half marathon courses anywhere in the world. People from all over the world participate in this challenging run. This year it was held on 18th September. The total distance for the Half Marathon was 21 km and as many as 700 people from across the globe participated, out of which 140 participants were from India.

Mr. Kedar Kulkarni (Finance – Excise Dept.) of ACG Pharmapack participated in the event and won a bonze medal by completing the 21 km run in a span of just 2 hours and 57 minutes.

ACG has always undertaken initiatives to address the needs of their employees, and provided them with superior healthcare facilities. In line with this commitment, ACG Lukaps conducted an Eye check-up camp for its associates from PFD (Packaging, Forwarding, Despatching), and QC (Quality control) departments on 23rd September. As many as 45 employees participated in the camp.

An annual health check-up camp was conducted on 20th and 24th September at ACPL Shirwal. The health check-up camp covered all associates irrespective of their shifts without disturbing the smooth operation of the plant.

ACPL also ensured that their associates received one-on-one feedback and counselling for health ailments detected in their medical reports.

A recognition from an organization means a lot to an employee. ACG has always been at the forefront of creating an encouraging work environment. ‘10 Years Long Service Award’ is one such initiative. Veena Joshi, Corporate Marketing was felicitated with a trophy and a certi�cation on 27th October.

Having fun at work improves team spirit, brings togetherness, relieves stress and makes the employee emotionally attached to the work place whilst reducing attrition. In keeping with this, ACG Inspection organized a 15 minute quiz contest on 30th September at Kandivali. A questionnaire with a set of 5 questions based on General Knowledge was handed to all associates which was to be solved within 15 minutes.

ACG ACPL organized a Volley Ball tournament for its associates on 27th and 28th September at Dahanu. The associates were divided into 8 teams as per their departments – QC (Quality Control), QA (Quality Asurance), PFD (Packing Forwarding Despatch), Administration, Maintenance, Engineering Services, Gelatin and Production.

The match kick started between QA and Gelatin who gave their heart and soul to the game. The second match was altogether a very tough �ght between Production and Engineering Services. The daredevils who wriggled themselves into the �nals were teams Gelatin and Engineering Services. The day �nally ended with Engineering Services winning the tournament.

The winning team was felicitated by Mr. Laxman Shetty with a beautiful trophy.

ACPL Shirwal celebrated the Ganesh Chaturthi festival with great zeal and enthusiasm on 14th September. A Ganesh idol was welcomed by the associates. The entire premises was beautifully decorated with �owers and lights. On the occasion of this festival a ‘Satyanarayan Pooja’ was performed followed by ‘Mahaprasad’. On the last day of the festival, various games were organized such as ‘Housie’ for the associates and their families.

Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayaka Chavithi’ was celebrated from 5th to 16th September at ACG Pharmapack. This festival provided a platform to bring all associates together, enhancing the sense of belonging and togetherness. ACG Pharmapack celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi by performing ‘Ganesh Pooja’ and ‘Aarti’ followed by the distribution of ‘Modaks’ as Mahaprasad. The entire Pharmapack o�ce was beautifully decorated with �owers and colourful lights.

End of August and beginning of September is always a very special period for Ludbreg town because that’s the period when a Pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Precious Blood of Christ is organized. This Pilgrimage is planned for the whole week and many people from all parts of Croatia come to Ludbreg. In the past, this was an apt period when people used to savour the traditional dish of sausages and sauerkraut.

Continuing the legacy, on the �rst Friday of September, ACG Lukaps organized this lavish traditional lunch for 40 associates.

ACG Pharmapack celebrated Funky Friday on 9th September by organizing various exciting games for its associates.

A painting competition in which the associates were asked to make a sketch of ‘Ganesha’ with colours, kundans, sketch pens and other decorative items.

Picnics are the best way to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and spend time with the family. ACG Pharmapack organized an adventurous picnic for its Plant associates and their families. The associates had shown keen interest to visit the UNESCO World heritage site - Kas Pathar, a wild�ower wonderland where �owers bloom and cover the Kas valley during the monsoon.

They visited the beautiful Thosegarh waterfall which is the most picturesque and scenic road from Satara to Thoseghar.

Newly wedded couples were also given gifts and were warmly welcomed to the ACG family. The noteworthy thing about this picnic was that the associates bonded with each other’s families as if they are one big unit and took care of each other.

The Large Hadron Collider - CERN, Switzerland

Built in 10 years from 1998 till 2008, LHC is the largest particle collider in the world and was created in order to do experiments that produce similar conditions after the Big Bang. Hundreds of scientists and engineers from more than a hundred countries participated in the construction process.

The Channel Tunnel - UK and France

Building the tunnel between England and France was �rst proposed back in 1803 and it opened for transportation in 1994. It has the longest undersea portion, which is 37.9 km. It only takes a little over 2 hours to get from London to the French capital.
