If the law is broken or regulations disregarded, the Owner (SEC) may exercise his right to refuse to allow the offenders to remain on site and will not be responsible for any cost penalty arising therefrom. In the event of Contractor C employing subcontractors, it must be clearly understood that it is the responsibility of Contractor C to ensure that the subcontractors understand and comply with all regulations in every respect. 5.4.14.2 Safety helmets and safety footwear Contractor C shall provide all safety equipment for use on the Project and ensure adequate training in the use thereof. The safety equipment provided shall be in accordance with internationally recognized standards for this location. Where such equipment is subject to Statutory Inspections, the Engineer/Owner (SEC) shall be provided with copies of the inspection reports. Personal protective clothing which will provide adequate protection for workers such as high visibility jackets, safety helmets, safety footwear shall be worn at all times and shall be provided by Contractor C. Adequate arrangements shall be made for regular cleaning of the protective clothing. Approved safety helmets shall be worn by all Contractors and subcontractors employees while working at the construction site and other areas where there is a risk of head injury. All Contractor and subcontractor employees whose job may involve hazard to the feet shall wear the appropriate safety boots. Non-slip or studded boots should always be worn because of the risk of slipping on greasy surfaces. All studs should be non-sparking. Appropriate protective devices shall be worn by all Contractors and subcontractors employees for protection against heat, flame, hot metal, radiation or against abrasion wherever applicable. Electrical rubber gloves with leather protector and sleeves, as the case may be, shall be worn whenever employees work on energized electrical equipment, power lines, etc.
