Problem Statement THEME- Most of the Educational institutes of national importance have large

libraries in their campus. It becomes difficult to manage thousands of books and keep them in right shelves.

You have to build a Robot that can help librarian to pick and arrange books in desired place.

Gameplay The event will be in carried out in three rounds as mentioned in the order given

below:-

QUALIFICATION ROUND: The robot has to pick cubes from the free zone and place them in the lower

shelf . Cubes represent books kept in the library. This zone will have 15 cubes kept on a table . Placing each book will fetch 30 points to the team . The top 32 teams having maximum no of points in first round will be promoted

to the knock out round . The maximum time allotted to each team in this round is 2 minutes .

Knock out round

In this round two teams will play against each other and the losing team will be knocked out .

The robot of each team has to pick and place a green book and a red book in the middle left and right shelf respectively after which they can go for the books placed in the common zone .

The common book zone contains 5 books . The books picked from the common zone are to be placed in the top most shelf

accornding to the numbers given on them. Each green and red book will earn you 30 points . Each book from the common zone earns 40 points to a team . The winner will be decided on the number of points. Time allotted to each team in this round is 4 minutes. The 16 teams with highest number of points will be promoted to the final

round.

Final round The robot has to pick a book of any colour from the self book zone and place it

in the middle shelf . After this the robot will pick books from the blue zone and place them in slots

in the upper shelf according to the number written on the book . The team achieving this objective in the minimum amount of time will be

declared as the winner .

General Rules DC motors having rating more than 24Volts cannot be used. You can use servo motors, or any other motors but rating not more than

24Volts. The organisers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above rules as

they deem fit. Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered teams.

Violation in any of the above rules will lead to disqualification. Judges' decision shall be considered final and binding on all.

Specifications Dimension And Fabrication The machine should fit in a box of 500mm X 5000mm X 750mm(l x b x h) at

every given point of the race. The external device used to control the machine is not included in the size or weight constraint. Expandable parts, if used along with the machine should not exceed the specifications.

The machine should not exceed 10kg of weight excluding batteries. The expansion of parts should be by robotic means only.

Robot Control Requirements The machine can be controlled wirelessly or with wires. Off board power

supplies are allowed. If the machine is wired, then the wire should remain slack under all

circumstances during the competition. If the machine is controlled wirelessly, the machine must have at least have a 4

frequency remote control circuit or 2 dual control circuits which may be interchanged before the start of the race to avoid frequencies interference with other teams.

Team specifications A team may consist of a maximum of 4 participants, all from the same institute. The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified

automatically. The organisers reserve all the rights to change any of the above rules as they

deem fit. Change in rules if any will be highlighted on the website. In case of any discrepancy, the decision of the judges shall be treated as final

and binding on all.
