A TRUCK DRIVER IS GOING OPPO-SITE TRAFFIC ON A ONE-WAY STREET. A POLICE OFFICER SEES HIM BUT DOESN’T STOP HIM. WHY DIDN’T THE POLICE OFFICER STOP HIM? ANSWER: PUT YOUR GUESSES HERE AND TURN IT IN TO BE ENTERED INTO AN EXTRA OPPORTUNITY TO GET A GIFT CARD. THE ANSWER DOESN’T HAVE TO BE CORRECT. WE’LL PUBLISH THE CORRECT ANSWER IN THE NEXT NEWSLETTER GUESS___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________ NAME_______________________________

As you are all aware, we have a game that we do to ensure pre-trip inspections are being done. We randomly place a tag somewhere that you should find it when doing the inspec-tion. When you find it you MUST CALL IN IMMEDIATELY. You will then get a gift card. If you DO NOT find it 1st offense is to do a one-on-one walk around mock pret-rip with a mechanic. 2nd offense will be for you to watch a 1 hour safety video about the im-portance of doing these inspections. These tags are NOT in tricky spots. Candy goes out and finds every one placed. LOCAL DRIV-ERS ARE NOT EXEMPT. Good luck and happy hunting...

In June a group of Timber Products co-workers went on a group motorcycle ride. We had a

blast! Sorry that the two other rides that were planned got cancelled due to weather. We are

hoping to do this again next summer!

Feel free to grab some business cards in our office and hand them out. Put your name on them too so we

know who referred them! Please help us promote our new trailer-side advertising.

REMINDER We have recently set up a commercial account with Blue Beacons.

Prices are currently less than the place we cur-

rently use plus there are more locations and we haven’t been pleased with the quality of the washes we have gotten lately. Please call in to authorize a truck

wash. Owner Operators we can bill you back for this.

We will only authorize the basic tractor wash. Any extras are optional and will be billed back to you. Let us know if

you have any questions.

WINTER IS COMING WHETHER WE WANT IT HERE OR NOT…

BE SURE TO LEAVE OUT EARLY ENOUGH AND GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA TIME TO SLOW DOWN. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE OFFICE IF YOU ARE FACING ANY

ROAD CLOSURES, DELAYS OR ACCIDENTS. BE PREPARED AND RESTED. KEEP YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON TO MAKE YOURSELVES MORE VISIBLE. AS ALWAYS BE

SAFE AND BE SMART.

We will be having our company Christmas Party at the Island Resort & Casino

on Saturday, Dec 17th. Dinner will be provided for

you and one adult guest. Following dinner there is a band playing in the casino

for anyone who wants to stay and socialize/dance. We

encourage you to reserve a hotel room and spend the

night if you plan to have any drinks.

Timber Products driver, Kurt LeFebvre, had time to stop in at the warehouse for Duck Dynasty in West Monroe, LA while on a run and shared these photos with us. Please feel free to share photos

from any of your trips!

REMEMBER SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION. SLOW DOWN AND SHARE THE ROADS.

WE’VE BEEN TOLD BY PREVIOUS BUS DRIVERS THE IT IS A NICE COURTESY FOR SEMI TRUCK COMING UP TO A BUS WITH THEIR

FLASHING RED LIGHTS ON TO STOP AND PUT YOUR HAZARDS ON AS WELL TO MAKE THE SITUATION EVEN MORE VISIBLE.

Never pass a bus from behind –or from either direction if you’re

on an undivided road—if it is stopped to load or unload children If the yellow or red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, traffic MUST STOP The area 10 feet around a school bus is the most dangerous for children; stop far enough back to allow

them space to safely enter and exit the bus Be alert; children often are unpredictable, and they tend to ignore hazards and take risks

MECHANICS CORNER We prefer that you use

bulk fuel in the yard as often as you can especially in the winter because it is good conditioned fuel.

Owner operators...at this time we do not

have the capacity to allow you to plug your trucks in here during the winter

ELOGS/NAVMAN PROBLEMS: report

these immediately. Even if it is after hours. It is NEVER acceptable under any circumstances to not log. If the device is not working properly or you even suspect it isn’t you MUST RESORT TO PAPER LOGGING until the problem is fixed. Once the problem is fixed we will then manually enter the data from your paper log into the e log system.

We have purchased two sets of AUTO SOCKS. We will keep one set here and send them with specific drivers on a case-by-case scenario. The other set will be kept in the receiving area at Red Ar-row. We will have our name written all over the bag. If you use them please be sure to put them back! These come highly recommended to help gain traction when stuck on icy roads. We can go over how to put them on at our fall safety meeting.

What is involved with our Lease-To-Own Program?

Our lease-to-own program has become quite popular both amongst current employees and

prospective new employees so how does it work?

We select one of our trucks that we are willing to sell to you and determine a fair price. Any

additional modifications that you would like are factor into that pricing.

We do not run your credit. We do require a $500 down payment and then finance the purchase at

10% interest for 3– 4 years. Weekly payments are taken directly from your check.

We also require you to have a repair and

maintenance savings account which we help you manage. Weekly savings of $.06/mile are set aside.

We’ll work on your truck in the shop for $50/hour.

We’ll help you finance repairs up to $3000. We will also inspect your vehicle every 90 days at NO

CHARGE TO YOU.

We will pay you weekly for all miles including deadhead miles via mapquest. You’ll receive a

base rate PLUS a fuel surcharge.

You’re still eligible for a company match IRA plan.

We treat owner operators like our company

guys...there is NO favoritism.

We will allow you to have the prepass and ipass still and bill you monthly

We will provide you with the Navman device for

GPS tracking, 2 way communication and e logging at NO COST TO YOU.

We pay for your yearly plates and we pay for your

IFTA fuel taxes.

We WANT you to succeed and HELP make your dreams a reality.

See Candy or Stacey if you’d like more info.
