witness and our words.

Walking lightly on the Earth: The Spirit and Practice of Simple Living, Part II Fr. Bill Morton, SSC
Climate change is an invitation to take the command of Jesus seriously: love your neighbor as you love yourself. Since the consequences will more dramatically affect the poorest and most vulnerable around the world, how far am I willing to go to radi-cally alter my lifestyle to make it an expression of love for and solidarity with the poor? What level of joy and satisfaction might we discover if our individual and sha-red lives witnessed the authentic Gospel values? We will draw from the wisdom of our families, ancestors, communities and Catholic social teaching to guide our reflec-tions.
Fr. Bill Morton, SSC, is a priest of the Missionary Society of St. Columban whose mission expe-rience includes Taiwan, Chicago’s inner city, Cd. Juarez and El Paso. He can be reached at [email protected] .
