The Sunday Eucharist

Sacrament of Baptism The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the first and second Sundays of the month at 1:30pm. Couples who are awaiting the birth of a child are invited to contact the parish office to schedule an appointment with one of the priests.

The sacrament of the sick is available to anyone who is acutely or chronically ill, or suffering the effects of age. Please speak with one of the priests.

Religious Education
There are no scheduled religious education classes on Sunday, January 26. Please be sure to complete the at-home project. January 26 is the annual St. John School Open House and Pancake Breakfast. Please support our school and stop by for breakfast after Mass. Reminder: there is a Home School meeting on Satur-day, February 1 from 9:30 to 11:00am in the Church Hall. The Warming Station Did you know that there is a safe, overnight space for homeless women and men in the Middletown area? St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on West Main Street in Middletown provides that space, a warming station, open nightly from 9:00pm to 7:00am. As part of the St. John’s Christian Service initiative, we are collecting the following items to donate to the warming station: men’s undershirts and men’s boxers size L and XL, men’s gloves and scarves, small deodorants, napkins, coffee and paper coffee cups. Please consider helping make someone’s night a bit more warm and comfortable. A drop-off bin marked “Warming Station” is available in the bell tower room located in the back of the church. The donation deadline has been extended to January 27, 2020.
Annual Blood Drive The Christian Service Committee of Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe NY is holding their annual blood drive. This is a critical time of year when blood supply is very low. Please be generous and stop by to give a pint of blood. Sunday, January 26 from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Have some cookies and juice after-wards. Anyone who donates blood in the month of January 2020 will have a chance to win a trip for two to Cancun, Mexico! Please call 781-0856 with any questions. Thank you.
Everyone is invited to one of two discussions about Bishop Robert Barron’s book, Letter To A Suffering Church. The first will be on Tuesday, January 28 at 7:00pm, the other on Sunday, February 2 at 2:30pm; both will take place in the Parish House (67 Murray Avenue). Copies of Bishop Barron’s book are still available in the narthex of the church.
Please remember to pray daily for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
