Transcript of System Addition - JH Consultant, Direct Fired Heater ... surface, or replacing a worn out or...
If you are like most users, every year brings increased demands on existing plant equipment, whether
because of changes in the process, increased demand, changing regulations, or simply the aging of the
equipment, current conditions require you to examine this equipment with an eye toward a possible
revamp, either now, or down the road.
This could be in the form of a simple burner kit to something as complicated as adding additional heat
exchanger surface, or replacing a worn out or undersized air preheater. Whether a small fired heater, a
critical steam boiler, or a steam methane reformer with six or seven hundred burners, it is important to
be provided with the correct information and data to allow you to make the right decisions concerning
the revamp modifications.
Increase Performance, Inc. with our expertise in all things concerning combustion and mechanical design
for furnace revamps is someone you should consider for a preliminary study, new burner kits or burners,
fabrication of new equipment, or installation at the plant. In business for over 20 years with projects
spanning the world, we are prepared to assist you with your requirements, no matter how small or how
large.
Following are examples of some of our projects.
Burner Replacement & Air Preheater System Addition:
Burner and Preheated Air Distribution Duct Replacement:
Heat Integration Project on Existing Steam Methane Reformer:
Through the years, operational experience led to operating at a lower flue gas exit temperature and an
O2 Mole percent lower than original design, resulting in the heat recovery equipment absorbing less
heat than unit was designed for on an existing SMR.
The resulting mass flow was less than original design and the stack exit temperature was higher than
original design.
Existing Steam Methane Reformer Expansion:
Replacement of a Ljungstrom Air Preheater:
IPI designed a replacement air preheater system to replace an existing Ljungstrom APH with a unique
design consisting of a combination of a hot zone plate type exchanger and a cold zone glass coated
tubular exchanger to avoid the cold corner corrosion due to sulphur content of fuel, common with plate
type exchangers. All without moving any major equipment and which can be accomplished within a
short turnaround.
So wouldn’t be a good idea to talk with Increase Performance, Inc, about your revamp needs?
