PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Studying the training performance appraisal inReliance Retail Ltd. In jaipur
evaluating its effectiveness and also its analysis that whether the employees are satisfied
with their current performance or not.
RETAIL INDUSTRY
Retailing is the last link in the chain of production, which begins at the extractive stages
move through manufacturing, and ends in the distribution of goods and services to the
final consumer. Retailing is the business, which consider every individual as a customer,
and accounts for less than 10% f the worldwide about force but is still the single largest
industry in most nations. Retailing consists of the sale of goods or merchandise from a
fixed location, such as department store or kiosk, or by post in small or individual lots for
direct consumption by the purchaser. Retailing is defined as a conclusive set of activities
or step used to sell product or a service to consumer for their personal or family use .it is
responsible for matching individual demand of consumer, which supplies of all the
manufactures. The word retail is derived from the French world retailer meaning to cut
a piece off or to break bulk. A retailer is a person agent, agency company or organization,
which is instrumental in merchandise or service it the ultimate consumer.
Retailing scenario is changing day-by-day; everyday brings new opportunity along with
threats and learning because still retailing is in infantile stage so there are lots of things to
learn. In retailing the best way for learning is benchmarking which gives an idea about
our position along with competitors

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL
Performance appraisal is the systematic evaluation of individual with respect to his/ her
performance on the job and his potential for development. the performance being
measured against such factors like job knowledge, quality and quantity of out put,
initiative, leadership abilities , supervision, dependability co operation, judgment,
versatility, health and the like. Assessment should not be confined to past performance
alone potential of the employee for future performance must also be assessed.
A performance appraisal is former structure system of measuring and evaluating theses
employs job, related behavior and out comes to discover how and why the employee is
presently performing in the job and how the employee can perform effectively in the
future so that the employee, organization and society benefits

Reliance industry limited has entered the list of worlds most respected companies.
Reliance is only one of the only two companies from India that have features in the
worlds 90th most respected companies list published by Financial Times based on global
survey and research done by Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Mr. Makes Ambani, chairman and managing director, reliance retail limited, is among
the top 50 most respected business of the world. Reliance also features among the global
companies that create most values for their shareholders. Reliance is the only company
from India features in the list of global companies that will make the most impact on
economics/social issues in emerging markets over next 5-10 years. In this list Reliance
ranks 53rd. Microsoft and McDonalds are at the top of the list.
Reliance tops the list of most respected companies in India. The survey in its list for
Indian ranks 12 companies as most respected companies. Reliance is at the top and is
followed by Infosys at 2nd
place and Hindustan Lever at 3rd
place. This fifth annual
global survey was based on interviews with thousand senior executives and opinion
formers in 20 countries weighted against the GDP of respondents base of operation. The
core of the survey remains consistent over time, identifying those companies in business
leaders globally that are most respected by their peers and the reasons for their choices.

Growth through value creation
Reliance retail is the retail chain division of reliance industries of India which is headed
by MUKESH AMBANI. Reliance has entered into segment by opening new retail stores
into amongst every metropolitan and regional area of India.
Reliance plan to invest Rs 25000 cores in the next 4 year in the retail division and
plan to begin retail stores in 784 cities across the country.
Reliance plan over 3000 stores by 2010 with approximately 5 cores to 7 cores
square feet of carpet area
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
To identify the developmental need of each employee with respect his role and
function.
To increase mutually between each employee and his supervising officer so every
employee fills happy to work with his supervisor and there by contributes his
maximum to the organization

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
A research design is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in
manner that aims to combine relevance to the research purpose with economy in
procedure. I have adopted descriptive research design for analysis of data.
Information Requirements
To know the various training programs that are being undertaking at ICICI Prudential
Life Insurance LTD, information is sort from the survey of Employees as a Primary Data
and even various documents and books are also consulted for this project.
