It is worth noting that more than half such incidents are not reported because of the humiliation and harassment women have to face in the process of registering their report.

INTRODUCTION-Rape is a dark side of the society today. Its one of India's most common crime against women. Its growing day by day.

According to the national crime records bureau of India, 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012. On an average 93 women are being raped everyday.

THE REAL SCENARIO-

The traumatised victims have to suffer when they visit a police station to file a criminal complaint against the rapists. They are asked embarrassing questions and at times even an FIR is not registered as police suspects victims are lying. The victims many a times do not even got proper medical facility. Instead of treating them with care, they are sometimes treated as dirt.

At times even proper legal representation - which they have a right to - is lacking.

Not only these, social stigma is yet another reason for such incidents not being reported. Society also plays a negative role and treats victims like offenders.

Thus, a special cell, a One Stop Crisis Centre is needed so that proper care and counselling may be given to the needy.

The rape victims because of the social stigma and other factors face a lot of problems.

One Stop Rape Crisis Centre (OSRCC) is a specialized facility centre for providing all necessary services for women victims or survivors of rape.

The centre is a special suggested centre so that rape victims do not need to run here and there to seek justice.

A One-Stop Rape Crisis Centre will counsel the victims along with giving them legal help.

The OSRCC is to basically provide all facilities under one roof. It will provide all facilities so that the victim does not have to wander from the OPD to police station to any other ward. They will be treated with sensitivity keeping their state of trauma in mind.

ONE STOP RAPE CRISIS CENTRE (OSRCC)-

OBJECTIVE OF OSRCC-Provide medical as well as legal help to the victims.

Provide emotional and counselling support.

Help in registration of FIR and police complaints.

Provide a lawyer for counselling and legal assistance of the victim. Support the survivor in rehabilitation.

Also offer secure shelter to victims at the OSRCC.

AIM- To design one stop rape crisis centre (OSRCC) for rape victims.

SITE LOCATION-Delhi

REASONS- Delhi in spite of being the capital of India faces a large number of rape crimes. According the statistics, 4 rape cases are reported in Delhi everyday. 706 rape cases were reported in Delhi in 2012 23.43% rape cases increases in Delhi from 2013 to 2014The setting up of OSRCC needs to be valued and run successfully so that number of OSRCC can come up, one in each district. Delhi being the capital of India and being in the focus of media for rape cases needs to have a OSRCC so that it can motivate the idea and help it in spreading all over the country.

According to the recent news, The budget for the project has also been slashed from Rs 244.48 crore to Rs 18 crore. Officials in the PMO say its "wasting money" over standalone buildings.

Because of the budget, the proposed 660 'Nirbhaya Centres' or ORSCC- one each in the 640 districts and another 20 in the six metros were short down to just 36, and their locations will be decided by the state governments.
