  • 1) Start SynchroTerm 2003 from your Start Program folders. 2) You should see the SychroTerm main window:

    3) To start a new project, click the open folder button of the source document section.

  • 4) Next, you should see an open dialog box where you can browse files.

    5) Select English_Sample.txt and then click Open.

    6) Click the open folder button of the target document section. Then, select French_Sample.txt in the open dialog box.

    7) Click on the Extract button and wait for a few seconds. 8) Once the extraction is done, you should see Extraction tab activating itself.

  • 9) Click on the 17 - tension lever entry in the Source Extraction list:

  • 10) Click on the green checkmark button to accept selected source and target selections. The selected entry should have been deleted from the Source Extraction list:

  • 11) Click on the green checkmark until the active entry in the Source Extraction list is 13 stroke control:

  • 12) The entry is wrong. It should be pre-stroke control. To correct this, select with your mouse cursor pre-stroke control from the Translation Units windows:

    13) Note that the Source Selection text box now contains pre-stroke control.

  • 14) Click on the green checkmark to accept the entry and then click on the red cross button to delete the stroke control entry:

  • 15) Click on the green checkmark to accept the full load entry:

  • 16) The lever shaft entry is wrong in the Target Extraction list. The translation is just one selection below. Click on the 42 % - bras du levier in the Target Extraction list: 17) Place the cursor on the first [~] in the Tranlation Units section. Click on the + button. Note that the context under the [~] are now marked with a +. Those contexts will be added to the lever shaft record.

  • 18) Click on the green checkmark to accept the entry:

  • 19) To view your current terminology entries in the project, click on the TermBase tab:

  • 20) Click on the Department field. Then type something and hit the [Enter] key.

  • 21) You can search entries by typing in the search box.

  • 22) Click on the glasses icon for context search:

    23) You are now a SynchroTerm expert!
