Featuring various instrumental choirs and sections, this setting of the timeless musical greeting showcases the technical facility of the concert band. NOTES TO THE CONDUCTOR This setting was designed for minimal full band rehearsal. Most of the preparation will occur in section rehearsals with the full band statements providing the framework for the various features. Please note the multiple options that are scored throughout. I have liberally cross-cued to provide the greatest flexibility in performance. The trumpet or upper woodwind feature beginning at measure 57 provides an additional performance option. Either choir can be individually featured. However, both groups can play simultane- ously, creating an interesting musical interaction. I defer to your musical judgment and preference. For those who may choose to perform this work in an educational setting, it is my belief that all music students should have the opportunity to perform in multiple instrumental settings. In addition to full bands and solos, the small ensemble is crucial to the long-term growth of our students. It is my hope that the rehearsal and performance of this piece will assist you with your music education objectives.
