Quizzes and tests:• Quiz on most
Mondays that covers news, lectures and textbook readings from the previous week.
• Midterm and final exams are writing stories in class.
• In addition, part of the final exam is the outside writing assignment.
Class participation:

• Class participation will be part of your final grade.
Accuracy:• Any major
error of fact will result in a zero on that assignment.
Deadlines• No late
assignments will be accepted.
• You will receive a zero.
Grading of stories:
• Lead (intro)• Content• Attribution• Organization• Writing
Final grade:• 80 marks = final
exam• 6 marks = Tutorial
No. 1: quizzes, in-class writing assignments, class participation
• 8 marks = Tutorial #2: midterm in-class writing assignment
• 6 marks = Tutorial #3: quizzes, in-class writing assignments, class participation
Classroom etiquette:
• Cell phones off.
• No interrupting.
