Brief course description Workshop provides a self experience of own family genogram
analysis within systemic transgenerational framework.
Full course description Workshop is aimed at self experience of genogram family
therapy training. Students prepare own family genograms and
present them during sessions. Group analysis is aimed at
learning about family system, assessing boundaries, family
hierarchy, critical events, resources and threats, etc..
List of topics 1. Guidelines for genogram creation: tips for gathering family
information, drawing own family tree and seeking systemic
interconnectedness of figures and events.
2-8. Students presentations of their own genograms with group
debriefing. During each session two genograms are presented
and analyzed in a setting of genogram therapeutic group.
Prerequisites for students* 4th
or 5th
year of Psychotherapy Specialization;
Genogram Technique seminar - completed or parallel
Learning outcomes After taking this course students will be more aware of their
family legacy and possible challenges in consulting families
with specific difficulties. Students should be also ready to
draw and analyze genograms.
